Bullybeef Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 Started mocking up some engines last night!

First off, Latham blown Ardun, very cool (and extremely expensive in current 1:1) The exit point for airflow of that type of blower is all the way at the back of the unit. So you may want to shorten your extension to the pulley and slide the whole assembly forward 2-3 MM (roughly 2-3 scale inches). @Ace-Garageguy could probably confirm. This pic shows how the entire unit is moved forward so the exit lines up with the center inlet on the intake of this engine. This one is set up for the charged air to exit on the sides instead of out the bottom, but this helps illustrate that the charged air exits out the rear of the unit. I'm no expert, but I like to help fellow builders when I can. I also try to point things out to someone as they are building a model, not after it is completed. I'm not a fan of publicly calling things out on someone's completed build especially when it is often so difficult to fix the issue without causing damage to other aspects of the build. Bringing things up during construction is the perfect time. Following along intently.

Bullybeef Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Well work continues, spent my last couple of nights at the bench finalizing the prep work for all the frames, two will have z’ed frames thanks to a tutorial by @Ace-Garageguy I have another 2 of 11 mocked up, roadster pickup and the Sport coupe. Got a little side tracked with details on some engines ??♂️. I’ll hopefully have some more frame updates soon with at least 5 more engines! Thanks for following along, comments of all types are welcome!
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Lotsa cool '32s coming together. Glad that frame zeeing thing was of value to you too. 1
Mattilacken Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Great work so far! Impressive doing so manny! I have the Revell 32 3w and made several attempts at it but never gotten around liking how it sits. Even had the plan on a top fuel engine in it with fat tires but gave up again some how.. Might need to get the 5w and have a go, more of my taste. 1
iamsuperdan Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Whoa! Someone local to me! Very cool and ambitious project! 1
Bullybeef Posted October 23, 2021 Author Posted October 23, 2021 Thank you gennlemen Only a little progress made, the sorting! Making wheel choices for the 11 without duplicates has been a challenge. 1
1930fordpickup Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 This is a great idea. Love what you are doing here. Are you going to do one Oldsmobile powered?

Thank you, I’m not sure if I have a decent olds engine in my stash, I have some parts n pieces from the revell line of gassers ie: Anglia, Willys, Thames but they are all fairly incomplete.

The three window is my favourite of all the bodies, it takes a bit of work to get a stance proper if you are doing a channeled rod, but it does build up well out of the box as a highboy. Don’t give up on it 1
Bullybeef Posted October 23, 2021 Author Posted October 23, 2021 Got another up on wheels late last night, Phaeton on a stretched front end chassis, wheels are from the 29 Ford rat rod closed cab pickup. Dechromed and added gold detail. Suspension front and rear are from the amt 25t kit. Engine is from the revell 5 window kit Ford small block with an auto trans. This will have a very deluxe interior.
Bullybeef Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 I think I may have made some headway!! Some of these mock-ups may not be in their correct order of engine to chassis to body, but sometimes you just have to see it to visualize the outcome. But there they are the 15 flavours all together.
NOBLNG Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Wow.! Looking fabulous there Bil. I wish I had 1/4 of your ambition.?

Thanks Greg, it’s almost winter here in edmontonchuk so I’m getting my building mojo running in high gear. So I did a moment of organizing frame/engine/body/wheels this morning! and I’m super stoked with the choices. still some mock up work to do on the delivery van so no real update on that one. And the last pics was just for fun, little scale 32 junkyard haha
Oldcarfan27 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 I'm diggin' the chopped phaeton and the delivery on the bottom! ??

Thanks man, the phaeton should look a bit better once I get to the paint and interior, I have to get it sitting on the frame a tinch lower. Also debating on if I should put fenders on it?
Bullybeef Posted October 31, 2021 Author Posted October 31, 2021 Been a bit of a crazy busy week at work, and my creative side fell off a bit, I got sidetracked from the 32’s with a ‘74 cuda rebuilder. So now that I’ve got the week behind me and the next two days off, I should be able to get some more of the frame work nailed down.
Bullybeef Posted November 7, 2021 Author Posted November 7, 2021 Throw some parts at the bench and see what we come up with.
