Howdy. I’ve had Model T fever as of late, started on this yesterday afternoon. Modifications so far include filling in the blank space between the bucket and the bed and using balsa wood and squared toothpicks I made wooden bed rails. I’ll be making a mount on the driver side running board for the spare, and this will be my first attempt at making plugs and wires. Still not entirely set on color, I’m thinking a slate blue over black fenders and beige top.

That is a good looking model Riley.  Nice work so far.  I think your color choice will look great.

I'm watching for sure, I love Model T Fords. I think black & blue are the perfect colors for a T. That's how my hands look after working on my father's and daughter's Ts.?

I'm tuned in for sure. I started building these when the kit was first released in 1960 as a senior in high school. Since then I have built at least 15 of them in various versions so I'll be watching for certain.

Thanks for the kind words Bob!

Hahaha ? that’s a good one Mark. Unforgiving machines, that’s for sure. Back in the 80’s or so my great grandpa bought a T as a kit car, and assembled it in his garage.

@misterNNL This is a pretty good kit for its age. I gotta grab a Depot Hack and delivery van before they go out of stock again. I hope AMT reissues the tall T soon.

Decided to go with dark green for the body. I used Tamiya TS-9, and Rustoleum gloss black for the fenders. Here’s a mock up of what I’ve got so far:  16E443A8-C5EF-4678-ADDD-EE8577AC5DAD.thumb.jpeg.a3235a064aca68b653496269d31aaa34.jpeg

I used a nice dark stain on the bed rails, and dry brushed black on them a little. When those dried I shot them with some Rustoleum semi-gloss clear.

Thanks guys! Your kind words are motivating.

Was able to get some detailing done yesterday evening. There are 4 ejector pin marks in the bed, but there’s also some nice molded in wood detail, so it sort of balances itself out, lol.BA5AF37A-05A3-4F80-83EE-52D3A28E2747.thumb.jpeg.061ee5a34490c20d024302eb338b2118.jpeg

Care to tell us how you achived that wood grain look?

Most of that detail is molded into the plastic (that’s why I reluctantly chose not to remove the ejector pin marks). All I had to do was brush on a base coat of acrylic paint, then dry brush a few different shades of brown and tan on after the base layer dried.

Hadn’t had much time to sit down and work on this one so progress has been slow. Got the windshield glued in  with no smears so that’s a win in my book. 1FECCB0B-346C-4B47-B394-7E00F3C7008F.thumb.jpeg.8ceaadce6938c6edb65df3ddb0787801.jpeg

The chassis took a couple tries to get all four corners to glued onto the floorpan/fender unit but it was certainly doable.EDDEFA6A-029F-4397-8FAA-DD70908F69F7.thumb.jpeg.b1f9a2b3dbdb20d35445675c12a7f736.jpeg

I got the spare tire painted and detailed, it’ll be hung onto a Y-shaped carrier mounted on the driver side running board. 18DFBF54-1E5C-46F5-AF0C-4FD21317D928.thumb.jpeg.a66a31aa00bd3eb09387f582d24cc9c9.jpeg
