cobraman Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Been messing around with this for a couple days . Used two AMT bodies to make the one . Using the chassis and such from the Mooneyes dragster . Still smoothing out the body and not very sure this will work out well if at all .
cobraman Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Thank you Bob. Trying to work through a couple problems.
dragcarz Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 I like it! The older I get the less imagination I seem to have, it’s good to see you still have yours. Looks great!
cobraman Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Thank you Roger. Imagination I have, talent is whats lacking.
cobraman Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Decided to close in the rear wheel wells .

Looks like a fantastic start to me! I love imaginative kit bashing.
cobraman Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Thanks Grant, sometimes things turn out far different than what i see in my minds eye.
Ian McLaren Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 New take on an old formula, different but in a good way. Great start
Lee Yoder Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Interesting! Are you going to hinge TT h body like an F/C, or just as is? Later, Lee
cobraman Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 Thanks gents. Lee I have thought about a hinge but not sure I can unless I added to the rear of the chassis. Car is in it's final primer coat, I hope.
cobraman Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 Put some paint down today . No clear yet. 1
cobraman Posted December 3, 2021 Author Posted December 3, 2021 Car was cleared today with Duplicolor 1K clear . Just needs final touches and a couple parts and clean up .
Gramps46 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 You Sir are very imaginative and a quick builder too. Congratulations!
Lee Yoder Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Outstanding! Looks like a dry lake bed is calling. Later, Lee
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Hi Ray! Verry swoopy, bravo! I often wondered if the typical Cobra body would be easy to stretch by grafting two sectionned bodies together. You answered my question! Was there "taper" issues at the cowl, or was the graft fairly straight? Just curious... CT
cobraman Posted December 4, 2021 Author Posted December 4, 2021 Thank you Claude. I got lucky when I cut the two bodies. They fit together pretty good .

Scott8950 Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Very cool! I think this is the first chevy powered cobra I've seen and that's pretty neat.
cobraman Posted December 5, 2021 Author Posted December 5, 2021 Thanks Scott. I have seen several kit Cobra's with SB Chevy engines. Would not be my choice in one I could drive but to each his own.
