cobraman Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Just wrapped this one up . Used a glue bomb body I bought on eBay and a body I had in my parts box . Cut them up to create a longer body . Had to make a plug for the difference in the hood opening with sheet plastic . Several putty and sand sessions . Using the sheet plastic I also closed up the rear wheel wells and made a small rear spoiler . Body paint is Tamiya TS 58 Pearl Light Blue , Tamiya TS 89 Pearl Blue and Tamiya TS Black . Silver Marblizer was used on the hood area and top of dragster panel . Chassis is pretty much just a stock Mooneyes kit . Added aluminum tube tips to headers I got from the parts box . I also had to cut out the rear body section to fit the roll bar . Body was finished off with Duplicolor 1K clear . One photo shows a short Cobra which I made from the two left over body pieces . Thanks for looking . 1

lucky 130 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Oh have you given me an idea. A long nosed Cobra land speed car powered by an Allison V12. I really like your builds, because you think out side the box, which gives me ideas. that could be dangerous. Thanks for sharing. From a fellow Cobra nut.
cobraman Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Thank you much Chris and Michael ! Hmmmm Allison V12 you say ? Interesting.

cobraman Posted December 24, 2021 Author Posted December 24, 2021 Thank you Carl. I hope you have a nice Christmas !
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Nicely done. Another very creative cobra.
Painted Black Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Paint is cool, how did you apply that finish?
cobraman Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 Thanks. As for the paint, I shot the first color from the front but pretty much did about 3/4 of the car. I shot the second color from the rear of the car. Then the middle color was just sprayed up and over the middle. I then applied the marbleizer using a sponge to the hood. Then all cleared. Only masking that was done was the two front fenders so the marbleizer would stay on the hood only. I hope that makes sense.
