It's a bummer about the paint issues but the new color looks great. Excellent choice of engine too.

This is gonna look great when it's done.

Hey, just stumbled across this post - good work so far. Glad to see that you did your research and removed the roof lip. It's the worse thing about the body, which is good in most other ways. I always cringe a little when I see an otherwise fine model where the builder hasn't corrected that issue. Here's a close-up shot of a Ranchero roof that shows the rounded contour of the back of the roof edge and the chrome trim. I believe the chrome trim was the "deluxe" option - base level Rancheros had the same trim, but painted body color.

Thanks Steve.  Yeah that lip on the roof was a little funky looking.  Thanks for the link.

I got the body wet sanded and polished this morning.  I hate wet sanding as I burnt through a little in a couple spots and I'll need to fix.  Still looks a little chunky but I'm satisfied with the outcome.

Shiny Buddy,  and yeah, the dreaded burn thru is why I stay away from sanding. Looks great ?

Thanks Buddy.  I'm on the downside now.

I got some bmf to stick this morning.  I had to go through a lot of foil to find some that would stick good enough.  Even with a fresh blade the cuts were jagged.  Most of it just will not make a good clean straight cut.  I can't tell you how much I hate putting this stuff on.

Good job on the foil work Bob, most definitely worth the effort. Chrome go's so well with that colour.

Thank's Luke.  Yeah the chrome kinda breaks up all that blue.

Your foil job looks pretty good. That is my least favorite job to do . Was bad enough when you could get good foil but now ?

Thank's Ray.  Like you I hate putting foil on.  Steering away from it as much as possible anymore.

It was time for the script on the body and I was going to try and idea I've had going around in my head for some time.  I did a search and couldn't find where anyone had tried this so I was on my own.  I pulled out a new pencil and marked a line on one side.  I took my Molotow Chrome pen and put a little by my mark and away I went.  I'll be Da*n if it didn't turn out really good.  I'm a happy camper.
