Sam I Am Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Received this from a member sometime last year. It will be built oob. The very first big rig I built was the Peterbilt version, so this will make a nice addition. Color scheme is yet to come. I am missing the steering wheel if someone happens to have one.
william1963 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 hello my name is william i have a stear whell for the revell w900 kenworth i could send you it from william
Sam I Am Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 Thanks William. I am going to look through things one last time before giving up completely. I had forgotten just how easy these kits are. I may want to build more of them. ? Chassis is all painted and up on all ten. only thing slowing this build down is waiting for paint to dry. Everyone needs to do a low stress build once in awhile. Very refreshing.
gotnitro? Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Good start Sam ! Sometimes ya need a relaxing build to keep things fun. I've been working on an oob 1/35 build..tiny parts but fall together
doorsovdoon Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Looking good. You're right, these are stress free builds. I did the Peterbilt version not long ago and it fell together.
Sam I Am Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Thanks for the comments guys. I have been super busy for awhile now but managed to find the bench for a few minutes anyway. Interior finished up and the cab mounted.
Bills72sj Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I have one of these in the stash. Good to hear they go together easily. Following.
Force Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 (edited) Nice. But the rear wheels are not mounted correctly, the outermost lip on the rims are supposed to be inside the tire like the picture below. Edited March 9, 2022 by Force

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. I know that most people get this model for the engine and wheels, but if you stripped all the chrome, took care of all the seams, did some filling here and there, it would make a great display piece. Worked on it some tonight. I have a few things to paint, wash the grill, touch up the chrome, and decals....I think that is it.
Bills72sj Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Yes, Nice progress. I also agree with a low stress build once in awhile. I did a 71 Mustang diecast kit after being in a slump for awhile.
Sam I Am Posted April 17, 2022 Author Posted April 17, 2022 Thanks for the comments you two. Decals are next. I need to order a fine point molotow pen to touch up all the chrome, but I have eight months to get that done. ?
Sam I Am Posted April 17, 2022 Author Posted April 17, 2022 Well, so much for a stress free build. The hood would not close all the way, even with relieving everything I could find, so I glued it shut. Then I found out that the decals were super thin and very aggressive. So...it will be touched up later and relegated to the back of the display cabinet. Funny thing, the crackerbox that I built last year took much more work to build, and lots of thought process, and turned out awesome (imho). This one I am disappointed in. 1
Dutzie Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Great looking build! These are great slump busters and turn out to be nice looking kits.
