ModelcarJR Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 This one is done. Paint is Tamiya Light Blue Metallic and interior is Krylon Ivory. Nice body, interior, engine but the chassis rear suspension is terrible and the axles are too short for the stock version. I was disappointed with my foil but there isn't much I can do about it. I used some painted chrome ink on the taillight bezels but they are too wide. I would have used foil and trimmed it down but couldn't with this sheet. Here are the photos: 5
happy grumpy Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Gorgeous Impala. Great details on the engine. Call me nostalgic but there are times when I really miss those yesteryears where these where everywhere. Really nice job you did. ?
bisc63 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Good looking model all around. Did you go with the "too short" rear axle as it was, or did you add spacers behind the wheels? Looks pretty accurate as it sits. Well done!
Cool Hand Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Impressive build, looks great that colour and well done on all the detail work.
ModelcarJR Posted January 21, 2022 Author Posted January 21, 2022 Thanks, all! I appreciate your comments! Rusty, I wrapped the axle ends, the portion that is supposed to click into the wheel, with tape and then glued the wheel to the end of the axle. Thanks for looking! ?
espo Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Beautiful looking paint and interior. The engine detailing looks very OEM.
customline Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Yup, everything they said, I agree. ? beautiful, clean, well detailed.
KWT Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Very nicely done! I built this one a few years back (not my best effort and the rear suspension fought me) I hope to try it again one day.
ModelcarJR Posted January 26, 2022 Author Posted January 26, 2022 Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! ?
TooOld Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 Beautiful Impala John , love that color ! Looks like you managed the foil issue just fine . Too bad we have to deal with such things , just remember we're all going through the same thing . Like everything else I suppose with some practice it will get better .
ModelcarJR Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 Thanks, Anders and Bob! I appreciate your comments! ?
