M W Elky Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 This is a simple combination of the amt 1968 roadrunner body, and the rest is polar lights barracuda funny car. With a modified chassis to fit the roadrunner body. The decals are by slixx. This was the only roadrunner bodied funny car. It was a real tank, but it was the body of choice for the sponsor. I think it made for a way cool funny car. This was a nice easy build a great kit bash project. thank’s for checking it out, mike 5
Bills72sj Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 That is pretty cool. I like the way the strip goes right to the hood scoop.
sflam123 Posted March 27, 2022 Posted March 27, 2022 Major COOL!! I don't think I've ever seen this car in model form before. Great job!
drodg Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 I don't think I have ever seen that body before also. Great job.
papajohn97 Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Nice build Michael! I like the early funnies where the bodies were nearly stock looking. I am also really enjoying this “building the covers” series that you are posting, you’re doing an amazing job on these and I’m very impressed with the high quality/ standard of each build as well as your fast productivity. So I assume you have a complete or nearly complete set of these Super Stock and FX magazines from the 60’s? Lucky guy!!!! Edited March 30, 2022 by papajohn97 Content
majel Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 That is a very cool build and definitely unique! Well done.
magicmustang Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 (edited) Very well done, Michael. Don't forget the gas and water tanks. Edited March 31, 2022 by magicmustang
Ian McLaren Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Looks like another worthwhile addition to the series, nicely done.
Lobo2me Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Very cool. Life before aerodynamics! Like pushing bricks through the air. Always loved mid-60s Mopars. Nice rendition. Well done!
daveb7153 Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Love em' all but this one is really cool. Best I remember, it was nicknamed "The Flying Barn Door".
Zippi Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 I'm really liking this one Michael. I like the wheely bars being up under the car. Keeps things closer to the pavement.
Hmann68 Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Nice work on a car that I always thought was cool looking. Well done ?
