Gramps46 Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 Older Porsche It is said confession is good for the soul. I really debated whether to post this picture or not since some of the models are in such poor shape and one of them I can not identify what it is supposed to be. But here goes anyway since the objective so to show what could have been available in the olden days.

vamach1 Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 The 1/87 Lemans Miniatures kit is great for its size. ?
Gramps46 Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 Well done mike especially considering their size.
1959scudetto Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Cool models, Mike - fantastic the 1/87 (!) Audi racer - unbelievable; I tried a few 1/43 race car models 30 years ago, and gave up (too small!)

NIce collection Gary. of some seldom seen Porsches - besides the 1967 907 longtail (Heller kit?) what is this? It looks a bit like a 910.

It looks a bit like a 910. The 907LH is the Heller kit and next to it is a 1967 910. The Nakamura Sangyo plastic kit 910 was imported to the USA by AHM from Japan. I always thought it looked kind of bloated but was the only 910 available at the time. Just Googled the AHM kit and came across a photo of this model I had posted here on MCM.? It was supposed to be the 1970 911T of Verrnier and Garant of Wicky Racing and it is not accurate but it is old. And then there is this ESCI kit of the 1976 Kremer 934. 3

Gramps46 Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Mike, Do you remember how/why the Pink Pig 917-20 got painted that way? All I remember is Giorgio Rossi refused to put his stickers (Martini Rossi) on it. Edited April 15, 2022 by Gramps46

So they painted it pink with the meat cuts on it for the race. Mr. Rossi hated the livery and refuse to allow the Martini & Rossi logos to be put on it. All these years later, it was probably a marketing mistake, as it is has become one of the most famous non-winning Le Mans cars.

Gramps46 Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 How about 2 Ferrari 330 P2s from 1965. #18 is a K&B body on an Academy 250LM chassis and interior as entered by NART. #20 is a Strombecker body also on an Academy 250LM chassis and interior as entered by the factory. 3
1959scudetto Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Nice models, Gary - which wheels did you use ? (I have a Tamiya slot-car body/reissue and want to combine this also with a Minicraft 250 LM)

The tires are from the Academy/Minicraft kit. Another option might be either the BBurago or Revell 250LM diecasts which have engines and more chassis detail. This is the Revell 250LM
