Koellefornia Kid Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Last year my brother’s christmas gift was Dom Toretto’s ´71 Plymouth GTX kit from Revell. It is a very nice kit and I was thankful for the great custom wheels that were included but I never intended to build the movie car (which is a ´72, by the way). But I remembered a Satellite that I’ve seen at a Mopar meet in Switzerland some years ago and decided to build something similar. So I got rid of all the GTX lettering as well as the rear spoiler and covered it in Tawny Gold Metallic: The wheels were swapped for a set of Pegasus Vantage wheels with widened rears and photo etched disc brakes: After applying the Tawny Gold the colour reminded me of cinnamon, that’s why I called the build Cinbad The interior is box stock except for a MCG pe steering wheel: The stock 440 engine was topped with a scratch built EFI Stroker unit: Thanks, brother, for this nice X-mas gift! It was a pleasure to build! And thank, guys for having a look! Comments are welcomed and appreciated! 2
espo Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 The color looks great, and I like the cleaner body lines without the spoilers and extra chrome trim. The wheel and tires showing the disc brakes look good as does trhe engine treatment. 1
Bainford Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Nice Satellite, Oliver. I like the clean style. Well done. What brand is the paint? I have a 1:1 car painted tawny gold and would like to build a replica of it, but having trouble finding the right colour. 1
happy grumpy Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 I have a soft spot for this car, having owned a satellite 72. This body style was only around for 2 years but it sure have heads turned even today. Excellent build and nice color choice to suit it. 1
thebavarian Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Nice Satellite. At the moment I built the GTX in black 1
Street Rod Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Really cool! Looks like it’s ready for some stoplight racing. 1
Plowboy Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 That's a cool looking GTX Oliver! Makes me wonder what one would look like murdered out. 1
