This was my second entry for this Years CBR Year Of birth my start number was #1 this year and i decided to build a 1987 C1500 LSX 454SS.

I am born in October of 1987 so the new C1500 had hit the markets. And this is a LSX converted truck.

Engine is a mix of C5 corvette LS engines from the PB with a C5R intake plenum, 3D printed valve covers and new headers out of solder. It also runs a dry sup oil system instead of the AC pump. The oil system is plumbed to the catch tank on the fire wall ant fuel and power cables run under the truck. This is my first build where i have plumbed more than the ignition.

The transmission is converted from transaxle to a “built” automatic from a Silverado "made to handle a 1000hp" ;)  Due to the intake plenums the engine had to be mounted a bit further forward than on a normal truck that also helped with clerance for the transmission that was considirable larger than the original one.

Due to the forward position a slim radiator had to be fit and the one from the C5R could be customized to fit. Other parts in the engine bay are various PB finds.
A long distance fuel cell was installed far back due to weight balance, also the battery have been moved further back and where the fuel cell used to be to remove weight from up front.
A new custom exhaust with my own design on Magna Flow mufflers was made out of bras tube and styrene rod.

Exterior wise it’s stock except from the thinned out grill and the replaced headlights, which i designed for this project, they are available on Cults. ;)
I messed up the paint but seem to made it work since it looks good. The decals  was ruined by my mistake when trying to blend them with solvent. I printed new ones from my original scan but my printer cant print white so they where useless ?

In the interior a road atlas from 1987 with coffe stains can be seen.

The plates are US size Personal Swedish plates, here we normaly have three letters and then three numbers, where i have AMI 987. We need to have both front and back.

DISCLAIMER: Some changes have been made after the CBR, as mirrors and plumbing of the oil canister. Original finish pictures can be seen in the CBR Finished thread. Pleas visit that thread as well and if you like, vote for your favourite build ?

This turned out really nice Anton. The stance is perfect! I know you went back and forth with wheel choice, these ones suit the build very well. The engine sure fills up underneath the hood, and I like there’s no big scoop, sneaky… As for the grill and headlights, what a huge improvement, the headlights really pop. Great build all round my friend!  What was your trick for the dust/static issue, looks beautifully dust free!!

Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve! Yes I really fell for that setup and it sure ass gave the right look considering that engine!
thanks again!
On the dust and static, I put a small amount of good automotive car shampoo with wax in it on a microfiber cloth and washed the build o so lightly, just to try to remove the dust and it worked like a sharm!!

So many excellent details on there, but it's the headlights that make the biggest difference. Those have always been a let down on these kits.

Awesome work!
