Can-Con Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Pretty simple curbside but the bodies on those old AMT kits were just soo sharp! Paint is Duplicolor Metalcast yellow with some green added over metallic sandy gold. Wheels are the K/H "Strippers" from the AMT '66 Mercury Park Mane kit. Interior is Tamiya white acrylic with an overcoat of white pearl with beige flocking on the floor. First, a couple before pics,, ,,, and the finished resto with some mild custom touches.. 6
Bainford Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 That is one sweet looking’Bird, Steve. Love the style, nice and clean. Cool colour, too. Very nice! 1

Plowboy Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Sharp as tack Steve! I really like that color! Great restoration! I have a new tool '62 that I hope to get to someday. 1
JollySipper Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 What's cooler than a Thunderbird?! (not much!)........... Looks really good! 1
70 Sting Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 That’s very nice. Bet it looks great on your shelf. 1
ChrisR Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Great save! Wish someone would do the emblems for these old Thunderbirds. 1
Zippi Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Turned out pretty nice looking. Great color choice. Classic white interior looks Fantastic. 1
espo Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the lightly "shaved" look. The stance and the wire wheels enhance the look. 1
Kah puts Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Wow-wee-wow-wow, everything about it is marvelous. 1
AMT68 Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Great looking paint and foil. The shaved door handles and what appears to be a lower stance work very well on this one. 1
1930fordpickup Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Another here with nothing but praise. Great looking model. 1
bogger44 Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Love the color and wheel choices. Excellent restoration Steve, she's sharp as a tack. 1
Robberbaron Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Steve, awesome work as usual. Love the color choice - really lends to the "feel" of this being a real mid-sixties mild custom. I've always thought these Bullet Birds look better as hardtops vs. convertibles. Too bad the final '63 version of this tooling seems gone forever (barring a cloning, which seems unlikely). When AMT/Ertl brought out their new tool '62 Sports Roadster, I was disappointed that there was no hardtop follow up.
