TerryH Posted December 25, 2022 Posted December 25, 2022 (edited) Hey everyone. I'm coming back into modeling after about 25 years of pursuing many other hobbies. I've been researching and getting my modeling bench and tools lined out over the past couple of months. Ready to get going now. I am am a forum junkie. While I enjoy social media like Facebook I love the forum format and participate in a few including woodworking, RVing/camping, off roading, and so on. My wife of 38 years says my hobby is hobbies. lol... I've drag raced on and off over my entire life time. I've been in the collision repair industry for 43 years. I love the Pro Street/Pro Mod door cars as well as dragsters, alters and the like so that will be my main focus in model building. I plan to build the '66 Nova Pro Street as my first build. I've accumulated a few of the old Pro Stock models to build and to kitbash to some of my favorite cars so will be doing some of that once I gain enough confidence to do it. I've got a pretty nice home shop that's equipped for woodworking, metal working nd general auto/offroad maintenance and mods. I also have a fairly popular YouTube channel covering my assorted hobbies so I'll be adding modeling to that as well. Here's couple of shots of the shop. I've modded my west wall bench area that had morphed into a bit of a catch all to be the modeling bench/area. Still buying tools and supplies but I figure that'll never end. I built my own version of the HobbyZone modules. Going to work with it as is for a while and then add however many more I need. Once I get some experience then I'll be attempting to build this '66 Chevy II Pro mod resin body using the chassis from one of the Pro Stock T bird kits. A Bob Glidden Fairmont from Scott at Futurattraction is on the list as well. The T bird chassis seems like it's going to be a pretty good fit for this body. Anyway, glad to be here. I've been reading for a while. Lots of amazing builds here and I have lots to learn! Edited December 25, 2022 by TerryH 1

The old dually is pretty much a family member. I bought it several years ago back when we last went drag racing. Pretty much all original truck with 150k miles. Even has the factory floor mats in it. We lowered it when I first got it. I love the thing. These old trucks are getting harder and harder to find in any kind of decent condition. I plan on them burying me in this one. 1

TerryH Posted January 1, 2023 Author Posted January 1, 2023 And the modeling area continues to morph. Decided I'd rearrange the pegboard by removing the woodworking stuff that's been on it since 2000. I'm like it! 1
mustang1989 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Great to have you on board Terry!! Looks like you do some good work on the scale as well as the 1:1 scale stuff. Love the Dually!! I'm a big fan of these trucks myself and have a 94 C1500 with 445,000 miles on her (the truck body & chassis anyways). These old trucks are just the "cat's meow". Yours looks to be a 96-00 and is in GREAT shape!! Love the rat motor in there too. 1

I love the things. Here's one from back in the day that we showed all across the country and towed with it as well. This is a picture of picture so not the greatest but you get the idea. 1
mustang1989 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Man.......that IS a cool ride!! 92 or 93?? Big block? Edited January 1, 2023 by mustang1989 1

Had totally custom interior. Miles of tweed as per the 90's style. Even though the truck was new we disassembled it and repainted every inch. Sanding and polishing that thing to show standards was like buffing your house. Especially so given the types of clears we were shooting back then. Har5d to tell in the pic but that center color between the stripes is Raspberry. A true 90's theme. lol... Edited January 1, 2023 by TerryH 2
mustang1989 Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Beautiful ride man. I don't have enough room in my driveway for a dually.......even a phantom dually would be nice! Maybe after our son moves out in the next few years. lol 1
misterNNL Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Work area is impressive to say the least. With a background on the 1:1 world you have the insight into how every last detail should look to be correct. Welcome aboard the best forums around. 1

Enjoying figuring that space out has been very enjoyable for me. I've discovered that knowing what it should look like and actually getting it to look that way are vastly different things. So far this first build is kicking my butt. I think I need to back of, build a few out of the box kits and then start back on the Pro Street/Pro Mod stuff that requires so much modification.
