This is entirely 3d printed though i'll probably use a set of pe bomber seats instead of the bench. It came with a flathead but i've changed it for a frentzel supercharged version. Since I'm on the boat all the paint will be brushed using citadel miniatures paints as they brush nice and clean up is easy. The kit comes with an external sprint steering set up but the angles on the mounts are a little off so some adjustment will be needed there. I messed up when i printed the chassis so one side turned out with soft edges but a few minutes with a file will fix that. I still have some clean up to do on the body from the support attachments and i'll need to scribe the door shuts

I´m always fascinated with 3d printing, don´t do it myself yet but who knows? It looks very interesting for a start and there is much room for detailing and customizing. Did you print it yourself?

yes, but the files i purchased from a designer called digital surface on cults3d. i goofed on the chassis by printing it on its side when i should have done it on its end

Cool project. That gold paint looks amazing and definitely not brushed. What paint did you use to achieve it?

Thanks, its montana chrome gold, its a grafitti paint i saw used while i was south so i asked where to get some. I've tried their chrome too but its just a non metallic silver. I think I'll give this a coat of s-02 or gauzy sealer before i do the candy. I get the feeling the hok will be too hot for it and those sealers can be cleared with duplicolour so that should fix any compatibility issues before they happen. I'm tempted to mask off the louvres too. I was going to foil them but the gold could be kinda cool for some detail

I am pretty sure that Montana Chromegold is an acrylic, so the only thing that would protect it from HOK would be a polyurethane clear. I would most definitely test any clear on a spare part or spoon or something.

That’s so cool!  What kind of printer do you use? Is it an SLA type with resin? I ask because the finish is so smooth - much better resolution than some I’ve seen.

It was printed on a anycubic photon mono x.  Thie has been sanded on the larger areas as there was a finger print effect on the side panels but some 240grit soon knocked it back and then i used duplicolour filler primer

I think I'll be giving this another round of the gold. I've messed up an edge so before i clean it all off I'm going to experiment with the different clears i have. Duplicolour on its own causes the gold to fade to grey on the raised edges. I've just applied gauzy shine enhancer to the hood so I'll give that a couple of hours to dry, then i'll give it a coat of duplicolour clear. Once i find my jar of S-02 clear i'll give it another area a coat of it, then later hit it with clear too. I'm still hopeful it will work as a base or the candy, its just going to take some experimenting. I'll give some other parts a shot of the gold too so i can set them aside and do the same teats in a week once the paint has dried for longer.
