IH 3800 - plenty of seats to go around!

Nice details you are working on, looking good!

These small details do matter, I think all of these definitely will improve the overall look.

It may look delicate, but the rod size looks perfect for the mirror application as well.

Thanks Steve ! I was trying to keep everything to scale by doing them w rod. I mocked up a white metal set first, but didn't care for the look.

I found a set of ultra rare mirrors w mounts w the right curvature for the 2 part side mirrors I wanted to replicate. They probably came from an Ollie's 4300 kit..

I removed the molded on mounts, sanded the back smooth, then cut them about 1/4" wide. Each side gets 2 heads.  Heres the real dealHomer158.jpg.2433755573d85c12d4143c2d0a748f3a.jpg

I need to replace one edge after chopping them, probably a strip of square rod will work.

Thanks for riding along!

I use 0.032 brass rod for mirrors.  Bends well with round nose pliers.

I had planned to use brass rod which would be easier. I had the plastic rod on hand

And is more sturdy than plastic rod (because workbench accidents can happen).  :)

Thats why they sell glue..for those accidents

Oh man, that is jaw-dropping beautiful. You sir are a true craftsman and artist. If you ever get tired of it just let me know and I will gladly take it off your hands.

Just keeps getting better and better! I can’t wait to see the 466!

I heard Daniel was working up the molds this week ! Our truck/ equipment builders will have another engine option. This wouldn't have been possible without the kindness of our member Tom Decker aka @redneckrigger offering his support.

Love the details here.  I am thinking another major component to be built is a swinging stop sign?  Awesome progress so far!

I was toying idea of the stop sign, but after chatting w my Uncle, their buses didn't have them till a few yrs later.  I might add one anyway..hehehe

Jeff you have this one looking awesome! Your in-laws may want to consider placing it in a different place if they use the fireplace. Around the fireplace mantle it can get pretty hot and you wouldn’t want it to get mess up.

Or maybe build a nice glass display case to keep the dust/soot off.  The model is definitely worthy!

Buses here in NC had stop arms and child protection arms on the front bumper since at least 1998 when I started driving, and I am fairly sure a few years before that.

Super cool!  Nice job using brass the material, those covers are looking sharp and the thickness fits the scale!

Thanks! I tried the flashing metal, but it didn't shape as clean. I should've annealed the brass before making the curves easier
