Art Laski Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) This build wasn’t on my list, but the San Diego Model Car Club and the Las Vegas model car club were doing a joint build off (a coupleof years ago!), with each club judging the others entries. It was originally supposed to be a tri-five subject, but they opened it up to any 55-57 Chevy, including trucks and Corvettes, so I thought I would jump in. Unfortunately, I missed that deadline by a mile! And the next one, and the next one! I happened to have this 57 Corvette Gasser kit in my stash, and I thought this would be a great opportunity to showcase all of the Pro Tech, Detail Master, and Model Car Garage (and other) aftermarket parts available on my store at scaleproshop.com. rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Over the top everywhere. Would be fun to see this one in person.
Claude Thibodeau Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Hi Art! Wow! If it wasn't for the carbon fiber hood... it could easily pass for something arriving straight from the 60's. Bravo! CT
Bainford Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 (edited) That is gorgeous. Nice clean work, and I just love the colour. This is one mean looking Vette. Very cool! You mention the colour is kona blue from Splash. What did you use for an undercoat, under the blue? Edited February 16, 2023 by Bainford
espo Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Great looking engine detailing. The paint color and finish are super smooth, and I like the carbon fiber hood.
Zippi Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Pretty kewl looking Corvette Gasser. Nicely done.

I was going for a classic gasser built today with upgrades type build, hence the Fuel Injection, as well as the CF hood.

Thanks, Trevor. I used Splash black primer for the Aluminum Metalizer I sprayed the whole car with, then the blue over everything but the side scallops. 9 hours ago, espo said: Great looking engine detailing. Scott Colmer Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Great work, Art. Nice mix of classic looks and modern touches. Great set of extras too - functioning hood pins, turned pulleys, and I really like the blue anodized engine features. Well done!
