Classicgas Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) Revell's ancient kit. Edited February 26, 2023 by Classicgas 8
espo Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Not seen many of these built, I think because of the complexity of the roof. Great looking paint and the colors do look like 1959. Nice clean looking trim.Â
cobraman Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 You did a great job ! So much better than the one I built once upon a time. Not a very easy kit.
Classicgas Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 Thanks guys. Yeah it's a challenging kit for sure but so worth it. Not likely to ever see a new tool 59 Ford.
heyjohnxx Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 I like that you can't even tell it's a multi-piece body! The colors just scream 50s. Great job.
Joe Nunes Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Very nice looking model and the color combination is a great choice for this car and era. Well done! Â ? Joe
Sledsel Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Great job on it! The colors look great. Goes to show these old kits can be built up as long as you have the patience for them
Bainford Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Very nicely done, Lee. A beautiful build of an old and challenging kit. I attempted one in my teens but never finished it. I have another in the stash, and someday hope to conquer that kit. Yours is an inspiration.Â
BeakDoc Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Lee, that is an absolutely stunningly beautiful build. It’s a finicky old kit, but when one puts the care and craftsmanship into it that you have, it turns out pretty dang special. For all of it’s headaches, it’s a kit that I truly enjoy. So much so that I added another to the stash shortly after I built one. I notice you re-hinged the lid for the top and filled in the hideous rectangular holes in the tail panel. Kudos on that! Great color choice and foil job as well.
Classicgas Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Â Thanks guys. The 59 Ford is my all-time favorite car. I hoped to do it justice. I eventually want to do another and hopefully do better.
Craig Irwin Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 great looking job, I like the hinges on the rear deck. Â
1972coronet Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Excellent build up ! Is this one of the more recent issues? I've been thinking about building one, but I'm not sure if I should pursue an earlier issue -- unless the castings/moulds are in good condition? I, too, love the '59s -- '58 and '59 are my favourites, too, followed by the 1960.
XYHARRY Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Well done Lee. What a beautiful car, and that colour combination is classic. Cheers, David. ??
Classicgas Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Thanks guys. This was the skip's fiesta drive inn release.
happy grumpy Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 The kit maybe old but you did a superb job on it. Making all the roof parts fit together must have been some work. I wish I could get my hands on one.
Classicgas Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Thanks. I skipped the working roof. Way too fiddly.
