XYHARRY Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 (edited) G'day all, l just finished my Revell 67 Dodge Charger 426 Hemi. Done in Tamiya ts43 racing green with xf71 cockpit green for the interior. My first time at flocking for the carpet didn't go well. I'll have to do some more practice on this so next time I'll be better prepared. Built OOB except for scratch built antenna. Also missing steering mechanism which fell out on final assembly. Now on to the next one. Thanks for looking. All feedback welcomed and appreciated. Cheers, David. ?? XYHARRY Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 I forgot to put in a rear view pic. As you can see I had some trouble with the tail lens decal. I might need new glasses. ? 3
70 Sting Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Beautiful car. That colour really pops in the sunlight. Spark plug wires look to be the perfect scale. :^)

Can’t tell they were hand painted. ? Looks like you made boots for the plugs… did you use little blobs of glue?

No, I used stripped out wire then cut into small lengths to sit flush in the rocker cover plug holes which were drilled out to the same diameter. Then just fed the plug wires in with a little glue. 1
espo Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Great looking Charger, and like the light green interior color you used in contrast to the body. Nice engine details. 1
AMT68 Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 A very nice and neat build in a color that looks beautiful in the sun. 1

TooOld Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Great looking Charger and it looks sharp in British Racing Green ! Well done David !

Tamiya has two dark greens in their TS range. I used TS43 racing green, the other one is TS9 British green which is slightly lighter. Go figure. I should call Tamiya to let them know it's British Racing Green, period. ??
Andy Oldenburg Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 I am personally very connected to the 67 Charger. My parents bought a new one in dark blue and I remember rolling around in the back with the seats knocked down. Those were the days, without seat belts. And whooo did my brother and I slip forward if dad had to break sharp! Your build looks very good! I like your details. ? An advice to get the spray paint surface smoother. Put the cans on a radiator, in sunlight or in a bucket with very warm water for about 20 minutes. The paint will spray finer and flow more evenly. Then keep in a warm room to dry. But take care not to apply too much, because it will flow faster on the body too. We don´t want it to drip!
Rattlecan Dan Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Nice Job on the Build. I can't get myself to say I like the Color! Engine looks nice also. Thanks for posting. 1
happy grumpy Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Nice build of the Charger. Nice engine details. Those redlines tires look cool on it. 1
