yellowsportwagon Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 This started as a MPC Slantnose Laguna. I added a resin 73-74 frt bumper and reworked the back to look like a 74. It’s on a stretched Tbird chassis with a big Chevy out of a Motion Camaro kit. PPP wheels and Powerslide decals. 14
Rattlecan Dan Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Very Sharp looking, and Nicely Done! Thanks for posting.
presnell Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Love it, Great job! So glad to see Benny's car he was one of the nicest men I ever knew, he was a very good human being!!!
Dave Van Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Nice work and cool conversion idea!!! Always liked that car.....and Benny was a great guy. I worked with his wife on a few license deals.
catpack68 Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Very nice work Tim! Where did you get the resin 73-74 front bumper conversion?

Not Tim here.....but it looks like the Laguna nose that was included with the AMT Chevelle kit for years, The recent POND kit reissue that part was removed.

No sir this is a copy of the MPC 73 Laguna nose. GKS Charger casts it

MarkJ Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Beautiful build as always, Tim. Nice to see more Benny cars done.
Pierre Rivard Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Beautiful build. Up to your usual very high standard.
TooOld Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Nice conversion and the white and gold looks great ! I like the idea of using a stretched T-Bird chassis . I was at Daytona in '75 when Benny beat Pearson . . . great win !
dragcarz Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 That’s just gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to build the red #72 champ car, great inspiration!
spkgibsonfirebird Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Great looking build, I recently just got back into building nascar kits again, how would I find that nose piece? I'm also wanting to start on Cale Yarborough's standard '73 Chevelle. Has anyone attempted to combine the MPC and AMT body parts? What gold did you use for this build?

Gerald Smith may be able to help you with an entire resin 73 Chevelle body
spkgibsonfirebird Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Awesome! I'll check into it.. I've always loved the Chevelle, Laguna and Monte Carlo NASCAR'S from that era.
TarheelRick Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Beautiful build, your color separation is excellent. I had an opportunity to talk with Benny Parsons at North Wilkesboro Speedway. It was after he had quit driving and was with ESPN. Very personable and down to earth guy.
Volzfan59 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Great looking model. I always liked the Kings Row car. The color's, the font, everything came together on the 1:1 and you replica.
bobss396 Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 I have a bunch of these Chevelle kits, I agree on using another chassis or at least front-clipping one. Benny also ran the newer slope-nose version IIRC.
