Chris in Berwyn Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 This is a 2010 Mustang convertible that I turned into a speedster. The tonneau, roll bars and front splitter were made from sheet plastic and plastic rod. I made the decals - I had more trouble than I expected with them, so probably will try to find someone to do them the next time. The wheels and brakes are resin - I found them on eBay, and the tires are from a Hobby Nunu BMW M6 race car. Paint is Tamiya Gunmetal over gray primer, and the clear is also by Tamiya. The wheels are painted with a light coat of Tamiya Dark Gunmetal over Tamiya black. The interior is Tamiya red (possibly Italian red.) The kit is the 2010 Revell snap kit - it builds up into a good looking Mustang! I came up with the idea for this build when building a near-replica of a Dave Kindig Galaxie, and decided I'd build the Mustang as a distant relative of the Galaxie. 11
Jim B Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 (edited) Grat looking Mustang. Very well done. Funny thing is, when I first read the title, I read "Speeder" not "Speedster", and I was wondering how you were going to mix a Ford Mustang & Star Wars. ? Edited August 11, 2023 by Jim B
ea0863 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Came out very cool Chris! It's always neat to see such a unique build.
karbuildr Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Very cool build. Gunmetal and red looks great, like the body striping too, very nice shine and excellent wheel, tire and brake choice. The Galaxie is every bit as cool.
Chuckyg1 Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 That's a neat little build. It just looks right. The wheels suit the car perfectly. Very nice.
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 This one has the just the right look! Nice build!
espo Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Great looking pair of Fords. Like the colors and the covered rear seat area idea.
