louis Carabott Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Dedicated most of my work to the engine.....This monster had an aero engine on it and it broke the World speed record in 1924 at Arpajon clocking 146.01 miles per hour It was driven by its own inventor ...Ernest Eldridge . It was nicknamed Mefistofoles because of the infernal noise it used to make ...especially when revving ...Hope you like it 5
Mittagskind Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Wow, the high school of Modelling, great!! 1
XYHARRY Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Magnificent model there Louis, worthy of a place in the motor museum. Your weathering and attention to detail is second to none. Very well done and thanks for sharing. Cheers, David. ?? 1
Pierre Rivard Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 And that engine is glorious... as is the rest of the car. A splendid replica. 1
Jim B Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Stunning build! There is a lot of detail there. 1
Justin Porter Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 That's really just something else to see! The subtle multi-toning especially brings it to life. 1
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Over the top! So much fun to see this. The red paint is perfect. 1
papajohn97 Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Fabulous build of a really interesting subject. I’m particularly impressed with how you did the wood and metal components, so realistic looking. Is this build all “out of the box” or did you add/ replace components with a lot of scratch built? 1
louis Carabott Posted September 9, 2023 Author Posted September 9, 2023 I replaced the wooden components and added all the wiring stuff
Hi-Po Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Simply beautiful! Your attention to detail and weathering is spot on. Job well done. That is a contest winner for sure. 1
Bugatti Fan Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 A really lovely model Louis. One of the best builds I have seen of this model car kit. I have seen some others built up at shows and in 1/12 th scale it makes an awesome beast of a model! 1
karbuildr Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Wow, just...wow. What a great model, incredible details, amazing build. 1
Yeah Nah Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Louis, your model building skills are second to none. Every photo just takes my breath away. 1

A splendid replica. x 2: this is museum quality - I don't want to imagine going at high speeds with such a monster engine, but almost without brakes or roadholding abilities (riding on a bumpy road would have make seatbelts necessary to prevent the driver from being catapulted out of the cockpit where he is exposed almost like in a WW II Jeep) 1
spencer1984 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 I've always loved this monster, and you've done an incredible job on the model - excellent work! 1
moparmike619 Posted September 13, 2023 Posted September 13, 2023 Nothing short of a work of art. Very well done! 1
atomicholiday Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 That is onespectacular build. Great craftsmanship. 1
