Dedicated most of my work to the engine.....This monster had an aero engine on it and it broke the World speed record  in 1924 at Arpajon  clocking 146.01 miles per hour

It was driven by its own inventor ...Ernest Eldridge . It was nicknamed Mefistofoles because of the infernal noise it used to make ...especially when revving ...Hope you like it

Magnificent model there Louis, worthy of a place in the motor museum. Your weathering and attention to detail is second to none. Very well done and thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

David. ??

Fabulous build of a really interesting subject. I’m particularly impressed with how you did the wood and metal components, so realistic looking. Is this build all “out of the box” or did you add/ replace components with a lot of scratch built?

Simply beautiful!  Your attention to detail and weathering is spot on.  Job well done.  That is a contest winner for sure.

A really lovely model Louis. One of the best builds I have seen of this model car kit.

I have seen some others built up at shows and in 1/12 th scale it makes an awesome beast of a model!

And that engine is glorious... as is the rest of the car. A splendid replica.

x 2: this is museum quality - I don't want to imagine going at high speeds with such a monster engine, but almost without brakes or roadholding abilities (riding on a bumpy road would have make seatbelts necessary to prevent the driver from being catapulted out of the cockpit where he is exposed almost like in a WW II Jeep)
