Monty Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Just curious if anyone has the new Aoshima Firestone Wide Oval tires. I wasn't even aware they were out there till I saw them mentioned on a recent Luka Cee YouTube video. They come with some nice Cragar S/S wheels or chrome 5-slots, which, unfortunately, are 4-luggers. In the video, the package appears to contain a piece of paper. Anyone know if it's the backing paper for tire lettering decals? If you have a set, I'd appreciate seeing an up-close pic or two of them.
Bill Eh? Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I bought both sets at my LHS. The Slots are boxed as ENKEIDISH, and yes they are 4 lug. The Cragar SS are boxed as American SS. Both are 15". The decals appear to be licence plates. I can't make out the bottom part of the decal sheet. The larger piece of white paper behind the decal sheet is only a protective sheet. Here are some pictures. 1
Bill Eh? Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) Back of EnkeiDish box. Both sets are both 1/24 scale. Edited September 25, 2023 by Bill Eh? Include scale.
Bill Eh? Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 I live in Toronto, ON. There are some great shops in T.O., but my favourite is half hour east of me in Whitby, ON, Dailey Hobbies.

RocketFoot Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Those are pretty nice! I need 2 sets of the American SS! I wonder if I can order from anywhere online yet?

bill-e-boy Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 Are the tires in the Cragars set big and little?
peteski Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 (edited) For a moment I thought these were re-pop and re-branding of the MRC Muscle Car Hop-Up Sets, but these are all new design. Nice! The photo of the tires and of the instructions confirm that they are big and little set, but the tread pattern seems to be too modern for Wide Oval tires. Edited September 29, 2023 by peteski
bobss396 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 AMT makes some Good Year and Firestone wide oval tires that are quite nice, some with wheels, some without.

To avoid confusion 1999 is Hobby Search, not Hobbylink Japan aka HLJ. I've ordered from Hobby Search twice, zero issues. They don't offer the shipping options that Hobbylink Japan offers.
