Bainford Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Agreed. That's about the coolest '57 Nomad ever, and everything about that photograph is perfect, from an artistic point of view. The perfect scene, perfectly captured. I think Bob Paeth was responsible for this box art.
Bainford Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 When ten year old me saw this on this kit on the shelf of the local Woolworths, I thought it was the coolest looking model I had ever seen. I didn't have enough for the $3.50 so I tortured my Mom until she coughed up the deficit, and it came home with me. At the time, I never knew of the Little Red Wagon kit.

Love the subject and wish that Revell or others would produce it with the same quality as their '56 Nomad. The problem with this kit is the proportions are a little wonky looking on the rear portion of the roof and the front grill and leading edge of the hood. Beyond that this is a good place to start.

I remember seeing the Hollingsworth Nomad in various places in the San Fernando Valley back in the 60s and 70s. Bob Paeth cut-and-pasted the chrome reverse wheels onto the box art photo because the actual car had wire wheels, and Revell didn't want to replicate them. They already had the chrome reversed wheels. 1

There's a lot of great box art out there, but for me this is #1. Really wish Revell would move forward with the long rumored Nomad version of their 57 tooling (not the 60's tooling, but the new one) and would throw a set of the flame decals in the box and use this artwork. Not sure it's ever going to happen at this point, but i"m still hopeful. And yes, i am aware of MCW's 57 Nomad conversion.
