1972 GMC 4x4 wrecker

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the positive comments. Always trying to change things up a bit. Originally was a stepside in poor shape. The wrecker boom and floor piece is from the Revell '77 GMC wrecker with the strange looking wrecker body. The bed was fabricated using side panels from the Peterbilt 359 sleeper. The chassis is the typical flat frame, but extended a bit and the 2WD front suspension was removed and resin front 4x4 axle and leaf springs added. Wheels are from a diecast 50's Chevy. Last photo is the inspiration for the 1 ton 4x4 conversion.

A really well done Kit Bashing/ Scratch Building project.

The various parts are well thought out, and come together well.

I especially like some the small details. The Push Bumper and decals, the Wrecker Bed and the Wheels & Tires. All blend into one excellent whole.

Good Show!
