shoopdog Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 This is my recently finished Tamiya P38J finished with Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver and TS-13 Clear. When I saw this kit at my local Hobby shop I knew I had to have it. My mom’s name was Marge and the nose art shares a striking resemblance of her. It is now front and center of all my WWII aircraft. About a week before I finished it the wreckage of the actual aircraft was found in the jungles of New Guinea. Thanks for looking and hopefully enjoy. 8
Mike 1017 Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Excellent build. My mom's name was also Marge. She looks nothing like photo. LOL ? Mike 1
drodg Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Beautiful build. I want to build a P51 Mustang before I hang my hat up on building. This is a fantastic job on a P38 1

TonyK Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 (edited) Wow! A couple of great looking models. Excellent work on these. And I'll add that my mom was Marge also. And my mother-in-law is named Marge. ? Edited June 4, 2024 by TonyK 1
David G. Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Wow! An amazing build! What a great story too! It's almost like one of those episodes from that "Amazing Stories" TV series from the Eighties. David G. 1
spencer1984 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Great job on both, the P-38 has always been a favorite of mine. 1

bogger44 Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Beautiful P-38 and back story. The Mustang is sharp too. Last fall I took a two night trip up along Lake Superior. Stopped at the Veteran's Museum in Superior, they have a replica of Bong's plane and some personal items of his. I also went to the little town of Poplar (just outside of Superior and where he grew up) and visited his grave. 1
