This is my recently finished Tamiya P38J finished with Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver and TS-13 Clear. When I saw this kit at my local Hobby shop I knew I had to have it. My mom’s name was Marge and the nose art shares a striking resemblance of her. It is now front and center of all my WWII aircraft. About a week before I finished it the wreckage of the actual aircraft was found in the jungles of New Guinea. Thanks for looking and hopefully enjoy.

Beautiful build.  I want to build a P51 Mustang before I hang my hat up on building.  This is a fantastic job on a P38

Thank you David, here is the Revell P51 I recently finished. The P51 has to be my favorite WWII aircraft.

Wow! A couple of great looking models. Excellent work on these.

And I'll add that my mom was Marge also.

And my mother-in-law is named Marge. ?

Wow! An amazing build!

What a great story too! It's almost like one of those episodes from that "Amazing Stories" TV series from the Eighties.

Awesome work! I have a few planes but not brave enough to try one yet?

You just built that beautiful bike, a plane will be a snap for you!

Beautiful P-38 and back story.  The Mustang is sharp too.  Last fall I took a two night trip up along Lake Superior.  Stopped at the Veteran's Museum in Superior, they have a replica of Bong's plane and some personal items of his.  I also went to the little town of Poplar (just outside of Superior and where he grew up) and visited his grave.

Thanks! Sounds like a great road trip one of these days.
