Some of the neighbors walking dogs occasionally leave their full poo bags on my tree lawn, either intentionally or unintentionally dropped there.   The only dog poo I’ve stepped in, though, is my own dogs.  At least their product is small.

One of the most amazing dog poo-related things I have witnessed was in the neighborhood park. The human bagged a sizable Golden Retriever exhaust, tied the bag and handed it back to the dog. The owner pointed to the nearest trashcan, and the dog trotted over and disposed of the bag. I wish they were all trained to do that. Humans AND dogs, LOL.

I fell asleep on the couch, hit the bed at 2:30 am.. tossed and turned and the cat wanted attention.

It is fairly normal for my garage mounted motion lights to be tripped. It could be a raccoon, a moving tree branch or a car close to my driveway. It goes for a minute and turns off.

This time. 3:40 am, it is accompanied by what looks like a large light source that lights up my bedroom.

So I'm out of bed, looking out the window that faces the driveway. I see someone with a flashlight walking up the neighbor's driveway, into their backyard. I see the light moving around.

I can't tell who this is, my view of a car in the street is blocked. Then the person gets into what is a county cop SUV. That moves down the block with the spot light going. Obviously they are looking for someone.

We have an all night gas station at the end of the block, maybe 500 feet from me. I'll try to see if it was robbed.. again.

When walking my dogs I never let them go in someone's yard; #1 or #2. There is space between the street and sidewalk or the field or some other place. And I always pick up. The really frustrating thing is when I'm picking my dog poo up right next to some that didn't get picked up.

...As for trash, very seldom will there be any, I chalk it up to not having may kids in the neighborhood.

It's not kids here who are constantly littering. Several of the neighborhood homes have been rezoned for a particular kind of business, and the crews in the work trucks going by appear to be the worst offenders...at least they're the only ones I've seen in the actual act of throwing out their trash as they drive by.

I was in traffic not too long ago (one street over from my house) behind a car full of adults and kids, at a stop light. All the power windows went down pretty much simultaneously, and trash flew out every one. When the light turned green and cars started moving, it looked like a garbage can had just been dumped on the street.

This used to be a very clean area.

Adaptive cruise/ smart braking. On a road trip this weekend, I pulled out to make a pass on a 2 lane road. guy ahead doing 10-20 below posted for miles. long passing zone no traffic. My car starts to accelerate then suddenly slows to match his 20 under. near the end of the passing lane the car decides to go, and I just get over before the top of a hill. I don't like that automatic stuff.  And to turn it off, every time you start the car you have to navigate through 4 screens.

A few years back I was stopped at a red light near my house when a couple of middle aged ladies rolled down their windows and threw their fast food bags full of trash into the street. There was no one stopped behind me, so when the light turned green and they took off, I quickly jumped out and picked up their trash. I then proceeded to follow them home and after they pulled into their driveway, I got out and handed the driver their bags of trash back and reminded them that our city is not a garbage can, their license plate is clearly displayed and littering citation fines are more than $500.00.

If I was going to stay here, I'd definitely have some real-looking signs made up saying    $1500 FINE FOR LITTERING    PHOTO ENFORCED   and put them on the street in front of the house with fake cameras.

It would be an interesting experiment, at least.

But I'll be gone fairly soon, and the trash-throwers can live in as much garbage as they want to afterwards. Not my dog.

Not today, but over the last few months the deer have been coming up into our yard and enjoying the foliage on the many Golden Euonymus Plants in the yard. They've stripped all the small plants down to the main stalks and are slowly working on the larger bushes.

Dead grass, dead trees,& brown shrubs. That’s about it.Oh and a crow that wouldn’t shut the hell up..The winter sucks here in NY.🥶

In my yard I see snow and ice.  The driveway is snow over ice.   Supposed to get more snow this weekend.  Yay.   In the foreground on the left and right are small shrubs (boxwoods and evergreens) I've planted in the last 18 months.

NE suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio.  Been getting snow on and off constantly since Jan 1st.  Had a cold snap the last couple days, lows around 5 and highs around 12-16F.   January-February is the only time of the year I miss living in Phoenix, otherwise I love it here near Lake Erie.  My yard will be lush and green again...

I go to the Dayton Ohio area about 3 times/year. Over the Xmas holiday, again in mid-March, and again in mid-September. It's like an entirely different world there in mid-September, everything is lush, green and beautiful...in December and March it's just cold, gray and barren of any foliage of any kind.

Yeah.  At least I get a few days of sun in the winter, not many. I need a spring getaway somewhere warm and beachy.

First day in the better part of a week with temps out of the sub-zero range. High today is supposed to be 10 degrees, and they have even promised some sun, maybe. Supposed to get into the lower 50's next week, what the heck is going on? Well, I got the cushions for the patio chairs ready anyway just in case.

It's a funny thing how people feel about the weather. I find the older I get, the less I can stand the heat.  Arthr doesn't really care about the cold, just extreme weather changes. and they occur whatever the temp is.

Wife tells me this morning we have a canid living out behind the house. She's not sure if its a fox or a coyote.  Wouldn't be the first time. Have to keep an eye out.

Females of both species are starting to look for denning sites this time of year.
