John M. Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 A great actor. He provided Darth Vader's iconic voice. He starred in films such as "The Hunt For Red October" from 1991 and "Conan" from 1982. RIP Mr. Jones.
TonyK Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Really enjoyed him in two baseball movies; The Sandlot and Field of Dreams. 1
Dave Van Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Many great roles.....I love SW but he was so much more......RIP
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 An iconic voice that will last the ages. Steve
NYLIBUD Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 May the force be with him.RIP,to a great actor, with a great voice.
Claude Thibodeau Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 He was also the voice artist that proclaimed "THIS IS CNN" early in the channel inception. CT
JollySipper Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Great Actor! He was in a few 'made for tv' movies that would not have been nearly as good if he wasn't in them......... One I remember, he ran a library in a bad neighborhood. I'm sorry I don't remember the title. Really good actor, and everyone loved him.........
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 (edited) Always one of my favorites, great actor, wonderful voice. But 93 years is a pretty good run. I'll miss him. He was an intelligent, articulate, and thoughtful human...and the world needs as many of those as it can get. Edited September 10, 2024 by Ace-Garageguy CLARITY 1
iamsuperdan Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 I'll always remember him as Darth Vader. SO many amazing performances though.
NitroMarty Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 His monologue about baseball, in Field of Dreams, is one of the most moving speeches ever filmed.... And I don't even like the game. I simply cannot imagine feeling that way if any other actor had delivered it, 1
slusher Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 A truly gifted actor I respected him so much. We lost a great one, R.I.P. Mr. Jones…
Horrorshow Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 I believe his first movie was Dr. Strangelove. Around 1964.
