1967RMP Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 In a previous thread (https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/190546-why-was-the-supernatural-67-impala-4-door-kit-discontued/) Matt T. suggested that the Supernatural 1967 Impala kit would be a good basis for the sheriff's car from the movie House Of 1000 Corpses. It being a 4-door hardtop, I agreed and did as much research as I could. (I watched more of the movie than I wanted to - not my cup of tea.) I got the wheels the spares box, not perfect but good enough for this. The lights are from the Johan 1968 Fury kit. I couldn't find the right color at the hobby store, but I did have some automotive touch up paint I laid on top of the well-primered styrene. 8
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 That looks amazing! I've always thought this kit would make a great cop car.
Horrorshow Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Wow, you really nailed that one, looks fabulous.
XYHARRY Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Nice sheriffs cruiser, well done John. Cheers, David. ??
slusher Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Excellent weathering and looks just like the picture!
espo Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Great looking replica of the movie car. Like the dusty look.
mrm Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Great job on the model. The weathering looks really cool. Nasty movie tho.
1967RMP Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 (edited) Thanks everyone! When shooting a pic, I've learned Tip 1: make sure the wobbly wheels are straight. Tip 2: use a real camera. Tip 3: make sure the cat's hair isn't on the windshield. Edited September 15, 2024 by 1967RMP
Bills72sj Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 way cool build. Whenever I get to my 67, it will be a cop car.
David G. Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I'd say you nailed it! Well done! David G.
carrucha Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Good work. I have not seen the movie but you build is spot on.

It's a Rob Zombie movie, which is the only reason for its somewhat cult status. But other than that it's mid at best.
ChrisR Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Very nice Wonder why AMT does not change the front seat and the wheels and re-issue the kit?
