Radretireddad Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Here are my OTB versions of Revell’s model A coupe and roadster kits. I decided to strip the wheels on the roadster and repaint them with Vallejo silver plate. I also applied the pinstripes that the instructions show on the headlight buckets to the dashboard instead. The Coupe is also straight out of the box finished in Tamiya dark green with a gold leaf accented injected nailhead. I can’t figure out why I keep craving a Reeses’s peanut butter cup when ever I look at the coupe’s interior. These were two quick builds that I really enjoyed knocking out. 18
DJMar Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Loving these! The green on the coupe works really well with the scallops. ?
espo Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 These both are beautifully done. The colors and finishes along with some decal treatments look great. The painted steel wheels seem more fitting to me also. I do keep a small bag of Reese's pieces in my desk drawer when I'm building.
mrm Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 So simple, yet so cool. I love them both. These kits are so nice. except when you get one with a warped frame that is. Seeing all these cool yellow cars on here makes me want to build something yellow.
STU111 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 These are great kits and your pair of model A’s look amazing. ?? I’ve built the 29 (l have the 30 in the stash) and it was probably the most enjoyable kit I’ve made.
XYHARRY Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I wish I could knock them out this nice, really well done Brian. Cheers, David. ??
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Nice pair (of builds, lol)! They both look amazing!
Danno Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Very nice. There just aren't enough finished Model A models out there!
happy grumpy Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 So nice and clean, they both look awesome. 1
Zippi Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Two good looking Hot Rods Brian. I like the color choices on both. Two nice builds.
Dennis Lacy Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Both are nicely built and look great in their respective colors. Good choice to strip and paint the wheels on the roadster. To leave them chrome would have been too much. ?
TooOld Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Beautiful Model A's David ! So nicely built and with your extra detailing like the wood steering wheel and gold fins on the engine . . . Perfect !
Orb X Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Where did the rear coil-over shocks come from? They look outstanding! And what did you use on the steering wheel for the wood finish?

And what did you use on the steering wheel for the wood finish? These are both out of the box builds. The coil-overs came in the kit and I simply detailed them with some Vallejo silver plate and Tamiya SG black. I simulated the wood grain steering wheel by first painting the rim with Tamiya XF-93 light brown followed by dry brushing streaks of Tamiya XF-68 nato brown and finished it off with a coat of Tamiya X-26 clear orange. That was actually my first attempt at simulating woodgrain. These kits really do look great right out of the box with some simple and creative attention to detail. Thanks for the compliments. Sorry for the delayed reply.
