Tommy124 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Hi there, I did this as a quick build inbetween other projects. No engine to show and not much love for the interior which is basically flawed. Painted in Tamiya Bright Red and 1K clear. 12
papajohn97 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Wow! Hard to believe you built this from a kit with +60 year old molds! Beautiful paint, perfect BMF trim, toned-down chrome and black washed grill and wheel covers, everything just about perfect. Did you replace the kit tires and adjust the ride height on this Fury? It just looks so much more realistic (better) than a typical 60’s 1/25 model car kit. Sure wish these molds were still around and I could pick up a ‘62 coupe for cheap, I would love to build an early super stock drag car. I always thought the styling on these ‘62 Mopars was really ugly when I was a kid but now I kinda love their weird lines (probably nostalgia?). 1
TransAmMike Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Very nice Tommy of a rarely seen Plymouth. Great work? 1
atomicholiday Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Wow…. What a stunning build. That’s just gorgeous.? 1
espo Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Great looking paint and body trim. There was a time when a bright red convertible, regardless of manufacturer, was considered the most desirable car to own. This build captures that look. 1
Smitty Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I always enjoy seeing these old Johan kits getting built. Your work on these is really nice! 1
STU111 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 I remember building one of these as a kid. Unsurprisingly, mine didn’t turn out any where near as stunning as yours. Nice job. ?? 1
Zippi Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Your 62 Plymouth Fury Convertible turned out really nice Tommy. Really loving the red. Just a Super looking build. 1
70 Sting Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Nice paint, trim and badge work. 8^) The pair look great sitting side by side. 1
karbuildr Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Very nice in red. One would never know it's an old Jo-Han. 1
dragsterguy Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 KOOL! Takes me back to the Space Age, early 60's! JFK, Seattle Worlds Fair John Glenn optimistic future. A great time in our history and a couple very nice builds. I should build mine! 1
XYHARRY Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Great to see these old Jo-Han kits built and detailed to a higher standard than the manufacturer's originally intended. Really well done Tommy on both builds. Cheers, David. ?? 1
TarheelRick Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) Beautiful build, that red really sets it off very well. Really impressed with the detail of the badge work on the trunk lid. Edited October 8, 2024 by TarheelRick 1
Moparman18064 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Beautiful build. Great paint, foil work and detailing. 1
ewetwo Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 They both look really nice. Did the Dart have the dimples in the front fenders by the headlights. 1

In fact, I believe the kit sits a bit too low especially in the rear which is why I made some slight modifications there. It's still lower that most 1:1 images I found on the web, but then again, low DOES look good, right. ? 1
