tim boyd Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I've always been very impressed with the accuracy of the 1969/70 Mustang body in the Polar Lights Funny Car kit series. (Perhaps that is because the Jims - Jim Kampmann and Jim Johnson were consultants on the project...). Here I built it box stock with paint detailing only during 2011. The paint scheme, of course, was a fictitious spinoff using my paint can paint fade approach, and both Testors Lacquer Ford Sunrise Pink Metallic and Testors One Coat Metalflake Paint colors, over a pearl white base. More pictures below...thanks for looking...Tim \ ***** 14
R. Thorne Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 A lot of meticulous work there and paint way beyond my capabilities. I like the riveted appearing windows/windshields. Thanks for posting.
W-409 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Great work building this tricky kit. I have the same kit in the works currently and so far most of the parts have had somekind of fit issues. Here everything looks right and I really like the paint job. Nicely done!
tim boyd Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Thanks, guys, for the feedback....!!! TIM 1
Zippi Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Very nice build there Tim. Great looking wheels & tires. Nicely done.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Nice. I literally have a dozen (or more?) of those Polar Lights kits (for parts), but I've never actually built one. That came out well... -RRR
