Dragonhawk1066 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) My recently completed AMT1967 Chevelle Pro Street with ghost flames done in Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue. As a base coat for the main body, I used Shuttle Art Flash Black which is really a dark charcoal, and for the flames I used Chroma Molten Metals Silver. I used Lazy Modeller Generic Tribal Small flame masks, which worked very well. The interior is done in a custom mix of blue craft paints with embossing powder for the carpet. The shifter is from Kamikaze 3D on eBay. The engine is mostly from the kit with an extra intake manifold, carburetor, and air cleaner from an Iceman Collections engine and the headers are from him also. The mufflers are scratch built and the pipes are 1/8" aluminum tubing. The tires are from the kit, but the wheels are custom made using MAD Modeling Pro Stars and the kit wheel rings, and were painted with Molotow Chrome. This was a pretty good kit and was fun to build with the only issues being self-inflicted. Thanks for looking!! Edited October 16, 2024 by Dragonhawk1066 8
STU111 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 G’day Craig. Yep, that looks sweet as. The flame job is beautifully executed, subtle, as ghost flames should be. All round, a top looking Chevelle. ??
ncbuckeye67 Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 That is an amazing build with a killer paint job!
kymdlr Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 The body color is charcoal black? looks metallic blue. Was the method to spray black then the clear blue over that which made it metallic blue?
XYHARRY Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Well done Craig, those ghost flames look great. Your build has given me alot of inspiration for when I build mine. Cheers, David. ??
NOBLNG Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Great work Craig!? The paint job turned out great and the wheels look way better than the kit pieces.?
espo Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Great looking color and how you just can see the flames. Like the engine and chassis detailing.
