Hello this is a tamiya ra273. 1/12 scale.  1966 f1 car. The build is not accurate. I jazzed it up a bit. The original is ivory white, I painted it pearl white. The seat is supposed to be black. I painted it flat red. The mirrors are supposed to be white. I painted them metallic red. Kit bashed with model factory hiro parts. The brakes and tires wheel rim outer are MFH parts. Used some scale auto photoetch. I recieved a bunch of incomplete MFH models. My buddy Mark had several incomplete mfh kits and was going to throw them out. He asked if I wanted the parts and I took them. I was hoping that I could make a complete kit , but no. So I have a bunch of extra mfh parts. The mfh parts really helped this tamiya kit. The kit is actually pretty generic. It’s a 1967 tamiya kit. I think Bandai had this kit also . If you decide to find one of these kits , stay away from the 1967 issue. Get the 1982 or the 2006 reissue. The plastic in the 1967 issue that I have is very, very brittle. I bought one kit for $10 and the 1982 kit for $15. Both were incomplete kits but with both I could make one.  Even though the build is not accurate I had experimented on a few things and again learned alot. Hope you like.

I’m digging it, Bruce!  You always stated that this one was not going to be an exact replica.  I actually like some of the changes that you instituted!  Nice looking model!

Bruce...really like your rendition of this car.  It looks super sharp. Followed you WIP and can relate to some of your struggles. But you came out on top and that is what counts. well done.

Thank you Rich. It did kick me in the groin a few times, that’s for sure. But just focused on one part at a time and it was finished. Thanks again.

Even if may not be an authentic replica of the real car, you created a superb model, Bruce - looks awesome!

Thank you Helmut.

Amazing what you have done with this poor old kit. The combination of your great skills and  the stash of MFH parts have allowed you to make it look really beautiful. Splendid job sir!
