What a crazy year in the life 2024, was for me wife and I. I only finished two builds this year and worked very hard to get these two done. I hope to get more builds completed in 2025. As always comments and criticism welcome. First up is theBilly the Kid 72 Dodge Demon Pro Stock. Over a year to complete this build, Original MPC 71 Demon kit combined with an AMT 71 Duster kit, and a lot of scratch building.

My second build was started in 2022, I started with the Billy Meyer Funny car kit, and  Slixx decals.

Your builds always look great and you hold your self to a high level of detail. Did pro stocks use that wide of s slick in 1971 ? Again they both look fantastic. That pro stock hornet you built was really impressive.

Thanks Michael, I love your builds! You are correct that big a tire wasn’t available in 71.  I built the car to replicate the 1972 version, since I started with the original 71 Demon the bumper is dated 1971, as they did back in the day. In late in 72 they introduced the 14 x 32 drag tire , I am probably pushing the size but it looks cool

These comments concern the Demon build.  Man, there is a lot of work there!  Did you forget to hook up the coil wire?  No wonder it won’t start.  Didn’t the rules require a driveshaft loop?  The transition from primary pipes to collectors looks unusual?  Do you have any interior pics?  In closing, thank you for all the helpful comments you have made to other people on this forum (myself included).  I hope you take these as constructive comments.

Man Ron you are on it! I was rushing to take it to Acme, the coil mounts to the right fender apron that didn’t fit. I couldn’t get the drive shaft loop to fit in the tunnel with out keeping the drive shaft from alignment with the rear end. There is no rack and pinion steering and I couldn’t get my dry sump oil lines to work. I still want to complete all these items but I just needed a break from it. They don’t pick up the models at ACME so I got away with it.

Both builds look great Roger! That Demon is my favorite🙌

Thanks Scott, it’s mine too, it still needs a little attention. The Blue Max is what I call a filler, I try to work on simple builds as I do hard ones to fill my drying time.

Very nice work…..love that Demon, one of the coolest looking cars of that era in my opinion. Great job on both, very clean 👍👍

Thank you Marurice, I painted the Red and Purple panels, and then I cut the pinstripes from the Slixx decals and the BTK/ Wanted/ Dodge decals worked nicely. The sponsors decals were terrible and I ended up using decals from other Slixx decals sheets I have in my stash.
