Hey, guys! I thought it would be fun to show our video game set-ups........ My modest system is just a Playstation 2 slim. I guess you could say I was 'retro'! The TV isn't even a smart TV, I have a kids floor-model gaming chair that I sit in. I have the 19 games which I bought all of at this place...........

https://www.lukiegames.com/

THE BEST place online to purchase used games and systems...... So, Here's a pic of my setup......

You see I have Gran Turismo 4 in...... that game is 20 years old! The graphics on the newer Playstations are much better......

Well, my tv is/ was a rear projection 52". Is it a  Smart TV nope, not even digital. Have not turned it on in a looooooong time. It has been moved closer to the door so I can take it apart to get it out the door.

My game system I bought new and is the original XBox. I can't call it retro because well I bought it new.

Yes the eyebrows raise when collectors here what I have, not sure why. But it is not for sale.

One of my daughters is a video game addict.  Since she got out of the Navy last year, all she has done is play video games, zero ambition to improve her life much less take advantage of the military funding education to become marketable for employment.  So I have to ask, how many of you used just your video game ninja skills as a resume to get a job that pays more than Minimum Wage?  The only time I played a video game, kids gave me Need For Speed, I managed to open the last level, "won" that.  That was on a desktop using the up/down/sideways keys.   Then I thought "that's it?  What do I have to show for it?"

Just so you know  my game or TV have not been on in over 10 years. If you watched me play any of the 80's games on Williams greatest hit you would understand why. The reason I picked it up was to be able to play the games I liked to play in the arcades back in the day. Yes I still suck, and that TV is as big as a Smart car.

i've still got 1 thru 4 playstations, a very very rare ps2 with internet from when i used my video game skills to test the internet capabilities of the playstation 3, sega megadrive and master system, x box 1 and 2, nintendo, sinclair zx spectrum 48k and a few hand helds. i mostly play driving games and i am in the top 100 players worldwide on gran turismo 7. I only have the system i'm using set up though.

the thing with gran turismo is the car set ups. the movie did get that right. you can try things in the game just like on a 1/1. things have jumped ahead massivly since using the arrow keys, and the air forces and armies all around the world are crying out for gamers to play their drone games or fly their jets as the same skills are needed. every race team has a sim rig now because they work, and its much cheaper to run a game than a racecar. gaming is a bigger part of some of you lives than you might realise even if you dont play.

Very true, even the cnc plasma table I run at work is controlled with an aftermarket x-box style controller.

the playstation consoles and controllers have a bit about them not being permitted to be fitted to military tech. when i was using my ps3, it had a lot of extra capabillity that sanford university (i think) used in the computting dept. if your ps3 was online it would be doing calculations for them in the background. gaming tech is especially useful in hospitals too

I ditched my cable in 2008, and used the TV for target practice.  I went through the barfly/poolshark stage several years ago, never got better than average Joe let's take you money at the tournament.  I have an 8' pool table that hasn't been played on....... gosh..... when was that?

Is it true the Titanic sub was being run by a game controller?  The reset button malfunctioned, I think. 😏

I have a 65" 4k tv and Playstations 2 through 5, though the 2 does need a new dic drive and I'm not sure how it would to the big tv. I also have a laptop for computer games, nothing fancy and getting close to being replaced.

I used to be into video games while my sons were growing up. The last major one I invested a lot of time into was Cities Skyline. I had MONTHS of work in it. Then I ran into the "Cannot build any more of this type" error essentially bringing my road building to a screeching halt. I was so bummed. Ever since I have dropped playing video games. With my 1:1 and my models, I have something TANGIBLE to enjoy for may years to come.

I’ve got my N64, Sega Genesis, PS 3 and a Wii all hooked up to a huge Samsung Smart TV in the basement room. I especially love the Sega boxing games, with all the old heavyweights, and N64 Goldeneye. Plus I have a ton of games I purchased that are stored on the Wii. I wish you could still buy them for the Wii.
