I doubt there will be anything but straight reissues of the Galaxie Limited kits. Moebius seems to have more than enough on their plate to keep them busy and financially stable for many years that they needn't invest in risky, oddball subjects and variants which appeal mostly to the lunatic fringe.

Erik stated on the previous page that the tooling can’t be modified, only run as-is.

So, unless they want to invest in new tooling as an add-on for the existing Galaxie tooling, the most we should expect just a straight re-run of what Galaxie previously ran.  I agree with you that there probably wouldn’t be a good business case to do any more, especially in light of all the other great stuff they have in the works.

I’m happy just to see these coming back, to be able to build, and hopefully get a coupe version in the future.

And, that should be enough for most Modelers. And there is 3D printing and Resin for those who want more.

Also, doesn't this kit come with 2 or 3 grille options?

I just hope Moebius will price them in line with their other comparable kits.

The reason I never bought one in the past was Galaxie pricing them at roughly twice the cost of other kits. [if not more]

I know they're nice kits but I can't really see paying a premium price for a kit that's no more "premium" them pretty well all Moebius' other car kits.

I seem to recall that the Galaxie tooling was located in South Korea.  Wonder if Moebius will keep it at the same molding facility or relocate it to China?

That may be the reason for the limitations on modifying the tooling, and would obviously also factor into pricing.

No idea one way or the other, just speculation on my part.

Just getting these back is great - Gary got to do something we've all dreamed about, cutting your own tool of a kit you've always wanted.

I managed to miss them all, "eh, wanted something else a little more..." loading up on everything BUT these.

I'm particularly interested in the notch coupe version, which was NEVER on the shelves at any of my LHS (#wth?) just the SD and FB.

Would be great if Moby landed the AM tools - adding the GS Corvette and McLarens would be a reall win for them.

The Accurate Miniatures tooling was purchased by Acadeny many years ago.

Roger that. Maybe leasing? Have yet to see any of their great subjects hit the shelf, but if I'm missing a memo and they are out - especially the pylon racing aircraft - please let me know or drop a link on me.

They've run the Mitchell a couple of times already and done several private label boxings of the Corvette. I have to honest and say the AM subject matter didn't really appeal to me, so I haven't paid much attention to what Academy has done with it, especially the aircraft. I just know they have the tooling and have released a few items from it.

Correct - you have the options to build a 1946, '47 or '48 version - here is my 1948 version:

Great news & kudos to Erik & Moebius for their efforts in acquiring the molds and bringing these kits back to us. I built and gifted the Aerosedan to my brother David (who introduced me to modeling about 65 yrs ago!) and have wanted to buy & build another one for myself.

I failed to get the ride height correct on my brother’s build and hope I can do a better job on my next attempt. Put me down for another Aerosedan and coupe!

I have the delivery in my stash only. I have not attempted to build it. They are rather ugly to me so that may be why it is unstarted.

That being said I am glad that these have been given new life for those that like them more than I do.  This is truely great news for the hobby.

It seems a 42 version would just need the grille done in resin or 3D. Any other small bits could be just fabricated by the modeller. 41 and earlier I think would need a front clip and a hood because the fenders are different.

I'd like to build the Aerosedan as a Low Rider, and the Notch Back as a Police Car.

That's a good choice. I've seen real ones rebuilt as low riders, and they look superb.

As already stated, this is great news.  I hope they will also consider doing others such as the '48 Pontiac Streamliner (long wheelbase) or Torpedo (short wheelbase) sedan-coupe (Pontiac's name for this body style).  Here is my Dad's '48 Streamliner:

I'd like to see the '48, and a '51 Torpedo as my dad had both of them and the '48 was his first car out of High School, he graduated in June of 1947 and worked all summer in sawmill in their tiny little company town and in September took a train back to Michigan and drove his first car off the assembly line and out of the factory. That was pretty good for a 17 year old, oh yeah that brand new Pontiac cost him a little less than $2500. Can you imagine doing that in our modern world?

I bought all three of the Galaxie Chevrolet kits and haven't built any of them yet, even though I looked at them, and was impressed with the quality of them, and ones I've seen built by good modelers were fantastic. I want to trick out all three mildly with appropriate lowering, wheels, tires, and paint.

If we get a Fleetline with the wood grain panels, I'm in for one, as well as another Sedan Delivery to mate with one of Best Products excellent station wagon transkits.
