Chevy II Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Just finished this 47 Chevy coupe from Galaxie Limited. I have a 1:1 1948 Chevy coupe, so this was a must build. This kit can be made as either a 46, 47 or 48. The detail in this kit is second to none. Only issue I had was painting it with those little jars of Testors. Let it set for over a month before doing any BMF, glass or exterior pieces. 18 1
TransAmMike Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Man, the old Chevy looks really nice...great job John 👍 1
happy grumpy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Fat fenders rule. I love the all black treatment. Absolute beauty. Good thing that Moebius bought the molds, they are going to be re issued. 1
STU111 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Beautiful looking Chev. Crisp details and glassy paint, cool. 👍🏻
ncbuckeye67 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Beautiful build! I love a replica build. I read on this forum, that Moebius has acquired the molds for this (and other Galaxie kits).
Zippi Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Yeah, I dig the ole fat fender cars John. Very nicely done on the 47 Chevy Coupe. That straight 6 looks Super kewl in the business end.
Mike 1017 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 It looks Very Good in black. I painted a Camaro with Testors Gloss Black in December and I am still waiting for it to dry.
Chevy II Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Thanks for all the kind comments. I was very pleased with how it turned out and excited to hear the Galaxie kits May be reissued. These are a few pictures of the interior before assembly.
espo Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Beautiful looking paint finishes and body trim. The detailing of the interior is very realistic looking. I share your enthusiasm for this kit as well as the Aero Sedan and Sedan Delivery. I also have a Coupe kit like this to build, some day.
karbuildr Posted January 23 Posted January 23 That is a stunning build. Beautiful black finish and very well detailed.
johnyrotten Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Very nice, great paint work and interior. Classy looking ride.
XYHARRY Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Absolutely gorgeous 47 Chevrolet there John, I have always wanted to build this kit. Detail, paint and low stance are a good look, really well done. Cheers, David. 😎👍
Carmak Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Very nice clean build! Little details like the blue and red wash on the hubcaps really stand out! What method did you use to paint the bottoms of the floor pans? Thanks.
