Flatout Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) I’ve always enjoyed building this old kit. The mold is definitely showing its age but it’s still a fun build. Latest release of the 1st gen AMT 57 Chevy. Straight axle, front wheels, ladder bars, moon tank, hood scoop, and seats are from the AMT 55 Chevy Nomad. Shifter and headers are from 3D Scale Parts. Fuel injection and valve covers are from Speed City Resin. Fabricated the deep sump oil pan and quarter windows. Edited April 11 by Flatout Finish post 17
M W Elky Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Oh yeah you nailed that 60’s gasser look this kit is also one of my favorites and it pairs well with parts from all sorts of other kits . Like the gasser parts you used from the 55 nomad 1

Chris V Posted April 12 Posted April 12 That's just gorgeous!!! Great use of the '55 Nomad suspension parts - It looks period perfect without the exaggerated stance of many modern day gassers. 1
Doncar Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Great build! I built this a few times over the years, but yours is the best one I’ve seen built. Well done😎 1
Straightliner59 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Nice job with this classic kit, Pete! I still have spare parts in my original box, from 50+ years ago! 1
dragcarz Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Looks like 1965 all over again, love the Mickey Thompson valve covers, where did you source them? 1
W-409 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Very nice, clean work creating a beautiful and a period correct race car! I know some people are not that thrilled about this kit, but your build proves that it can be built into a very nice model. Excellent work! 1
