If we're talking factory only, mine are the 1966+ Mustang hubcaps.

Also, in a more generic vein, there's nothing wrong with steelies and baby moons!

1966 Dodge Charger hubcaps are my favourite. Interesting to know what your favourite stock hubcaps are.

Funny thing about this is that as I understand the word hubcap was originally used to describe a small cup-shaped metal cover in the center of a wooden spoke wheel. It protected the hub bearing from debris and keep the lubricating grease from oozing out.  Those early wooden wheels usually did not have full wheel covers.  Later on, when wheel covers became more widely used, I guess people found using the "wheel cover" name too cumbersome, so those full size covers became hubcaps. Many contemporary cars still use the small hubcaps for non-driven wheels/axles.

I can’t say that I really have a “favorite” hubcap.

There are interesting, or good looking ones, and there are others that are mundane and boring.

I guess looking at it from the model building perspective, there are a few that I’ve used on some of my projects that I really like the look of.

A couple that come to mind are the wheel covers on the ‘67 Galaxie, and the Pontiac 8-lug reminiscent hubcaps on the ‘64 Bonneville.0D4AA4C2-5F5F-49D4-AAA6-B0FF9B165262.jpeg.467d45f7ce3311cb0fe1c1329e72c11d.jpeg52F386C9-2EBA-4EF6-B9AC-E750EAE034DB.jpeg.748d10329b80c55bba5767d7a5e4091e.jpeg

That said, I’ve also had some sort of affinity for Dodge 4-bar spinners, and Edsel caps.

I also like the hubcaps I have in my possesion; the 1970 Meteor hubcap from my grandfather's 1970 Mercury Marquis

And the set of 3 (might know where number 4 is) 1968 Chevy hubcaps my grandfather bought for his '75 Monte Carlo but never used on that car and were re-purposed to the 1963 Homade trailer (Lil' Red Express).

And also the '58 Olds hubcap I found in the gully under a gas tank that photo evidence shows my grandfather had it on the front driver's side wheel of his '62 Galaxie in about 1968, after having a set of '57 Fords on it in earlier photos. No pic right now but it's this:
