mchook Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I built this for a local 1:1 car club that is raffling off a bunch of stuff to raise money at their show this Sunday. Just a quick build, nothing fancy but I think it should do ok. I did one for them last year and a lot of people seemed to like it. It was a little different, a 64 Galaxie that was half restored and half junk, I called it "before & after". 17
johnyrotten Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Awesome looking wagon, great weathering, the original fender is a nice touch. Hopefully it raises some funds for the club.👍👍 1
1959 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Wow, one of the nicest weathering I have seen! I really like the idea of a replaced fender and hood. Gives a whole lot more realism to the model. Well done! 1
Tedly Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I love it! I like what you did with the phone number too! I'll call and ask for Jenny. 1 2

That was the first thing I noticed when I saw this awesome build yesterday. I was holding off to see how long it took someone to recognise that number ( hahaha ). IMO, a more arcane reference would've been "UNiversity-75309" or some other central office exchange prefixed number. Edited June 1 by 1972coronet *TYPO* 1 1
slusher Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) Great weathered build, Mark! Edited June 2 by slusher Typo 1

alan barton Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I love it when model builders pay attention to how a real car weathers, rather than just slopping rust all over it. The phone number made me laugh - a favourite Carpenter's song of mine! I also like that you wrote the For Sale sign neatly - not everyone scrawls it on - some people actually have neat handwriting! Cheers Alan
BK9300 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Awesome weathering - you could do a WIP just on weathering and it would be viewed regularly! Great job.

Speedpro Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Cool wagon! Thats some great weathering. I respect guy's that can pull this off as well as you have. I myself have never tried doing it and probably never will as there are enough guy's doing it that I don't have to. Awsome build!
alan barton Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Oooops, my bad, I was thinking of Beechwood 4-57891 Apparently the other song was done by Tommy Tutone, according to google! Thats why Is tick to building modle cars - I know squat about music! Cheers Alan 1
Nazz Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Great work on the little wagon Mark! Well done. Someone will be very pleased to win it and put it on the shelf! Jerry
