Not sure if I'll get anything; I'm not familiar with the Mustang, so I'll wait for HPIGuys' review to compare it maybe to Revell's GT350H, mainly to see if it has a detailed chassis or a plain one with molded in exhaust and/or drivetrain. The Willys is cool, because if I'm not mistaken, the slotted wheels look like the same ones as Mike Finnegan had on Blasphemi at some point, so could be a good donor. And as for the weird show rods, I'm not really into them; the only ones that may slightly tickle my fancy is Atlantis' Pie Wagon or Monogram's good ol' Paddy Wagon! Anyways, my comment is not meant to be negative; Round 2 has plenty up my alley coming 'till the end of the year that this month just gives me a short bit of extra time to save up for those other upcoming models!!!

The Shelby 350 Mustang is interesting. Could be a clean looking build in the Wimbledon White. The dual carb option would look good in it or for kit bashing into a 32 Ford Hot Rod.

Probably Q4 at the earliest....for the the Duster and Barracuda.

I’m interested in the Shelby but I’ve blown my June model budget already. Ordered the Atomic City jon boat kit and preordered two of Wes’s dirt late model kits.

The Shelby Mustang kit and the current ‘66 Mustang GT kit are modified and upgraded versions of the old AMT ‘66 Mustang notchback kit. The body and interior look good but it still has the old slab chassis which isn’t anywhere near accurate. Those kits can be bashed pretty easily with the chassis from the AMT ‘67 Mustang GT kit. The next question is why go to all that trouble and expense when you can just build one of the old but still pretty decent Monogram kit versions that Revell sells? Other than the fact that it’s 1/24 vs. 1/25 scale, it may not seem worth the effort and expense of buying an additional kit.

The Willys coupe is the upgraded version of the companion pickup with much better new wheels and tires and a way better decal sheet. I could use those for both the older kit versions I have in my stash but with the current cost of kits, I’ll be scouring my parts bins for alternatives instead.

I believe those 10 spokes are in the last issues of the old 1966 Mustang HT and they are in the recently issued 1966 Fastback wich was based on the HT and this kit is based on.

I might get the Shelby myself, but not for that reason.

 I watched the HPI video and the Shelby wheels in the kit aren't correct,they look more like 68'Shelby wheels.I know Revells 1970 Boss 429 kit has the correct 66'Shelby wheel ,except they are 1/24 scale.

I can Confirm this. And the Shelby Rear Wheels are Really, Really wide. They may not fit the extra tires in the new kit. It's worth checking out, IMHO. For a normal build, you need 2 sets of the front rims, unless you want an extreme Big 'n' Little effect.

I remember the 10 spoke Shelby wheels all (front and rear) being super wide in the prior ‘66 Mustang Coupe releases. Still- they look a WHOLE lot better than the ones in the AMT ‘68 Shelby Mustang, so if you won’t be using them in a ‘66 build, then they’re worth hanging onto for a ‘68 build. You could always use a razor saw and cut about 1/16” from the back of each, since the face side is no deeper than stock. 

I like the pad printed Goodyear Blue Streaks. I hope Round 2 offers them in a parts pack soon.

I nice "factory stock" correct wheel for the '66 Shelby would also be the Cragar G/Ts in the MPC '68 Dodge Coronet kits.

That's what I have always planned to use when I build one.

I have the new-bodied '65 version ( last year ? Two years ago ? I can't recall - whenever the new body fastback was released... ) , but I've been putting off starting on it. 

Why ?

I feel compelled to add a correct engine compartment. Maybe I'll attempt to scratch build a boiler room for it - or maybe just make it a curbside. The chassis with its moulded-on exhaust and such doesn't bother me all that much, as the build-ups I've seen look positively boss.

I kit bashed my ‘66 notchback kit body and interior with the chassis and engine compartment from the ‘67 fastback kit. It’s an easy swap that really improves the accuracy.

The Shelby 10 spoke wheels were all reworked back to a stock width starting with the AMT1305 GT Fastback release.

Jo-Han made a Marlin ; AMT made the Buick GS ('66 / '67 ?), and ; MPC-via-AMT made the F-150 ( 1992-1996 ; 1997-???? ) and the Probe ( c.1990 ).

The 1991-1996 F-150's been updated (originally a promo-come-kit ) and been re-released recently. the 1997 has never been reissued.

the Probe AFAIK has never been reissued.

I hope the AMT 67 Mustang chassis fits the 66 Shelby.

The Jo-Han '66 Marlin kit is averaging $280.

I'm not aware of any '67 buick GS in 1/25 scale, please let me know if there is one out there.

There is the Revell snap Raptor kit, but the new AW F-150 is a 2020 Lariat. How cool would that be in a 1/25 kit? 

I believe the AMT Probe is 1988 and '89. The new AW is 1994. Not high on my list, but at least it would be something new.

Maybe the Mustang for me, I have a soft spot for AMT's original version. I would love to see a bunch of new tools, but for these days, I'm happy to see these companies doing whatever keeps the doors open. 

As for other releases, I wonder it the camper from the 62 Ford truck will fit on any of their other truck kits. Maybe the Dodge LWB that came out recently? And I wonder if the streamliner body tool for the go-kart is on an unused part of the mold? I'd buy more of that!
