RSchnell Posted July 4 Posted July 4 While in the area we shot up to Big M Junkyard in Williams, CA. I picked up a few things for the '55 Ford Convertible project. The owner was gracious enough to allow me to take the Nikon out in the yard while I was hunting parts. Here's some selected photos. 3 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I can just hear that ‘60 Plymouth Fury in the first photo saying, “Nathan come save me!” Looks to be in not bad shape at all. I’d take that home if I could. 1

Have to focus on the '69 LeMans I have now, and then add on to the collection once I am older.
rattle can man Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Sad to see all of that beautiful steel in such condition, but at least it has not been crushed and turned into toasters.
RSchnell Posted July 17 Author Posted July 17 Here's a few more as I finish sorting all the photos I took on this trip... 1
John M. Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Salvage yards that still have vintage Detroit Iron in them are becoming far and fewer these days. Thank you for sharing the pics with us. 🙂 1

Thank you for sharing the pics with us. 🙂 That's exactly why I posted them! I'm in FL and there's nothing left like this here. Everything got crushed out & the land sold off for more transplants to move down here. I'm headed back out there after first of the year and plan to get more photos of this yard and another one that's nearby that has some vintage iron. I give guy's that run these places credit. It's certainly not the easiest way to make a living, but it can be fun!
Rodent Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I wish I could have joined you guys that day. I would have gladly ridden in the back seat of Dave's Taco to see that. Your artistic eye shows in the way many of the photos are composed.
TarheelRick Posted July 18 Posted July 18 That is some great photography. Makes me wish I could win the lottery so I could rescue some of these beauties. This one looks like the remains of a Cadillac. Since these are in California, I would place a small wager those rear fenders are somewhere on a custom car.
Bugatti Fan Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Whenever I look a car junkyard pictures makes me think that every one of those cars used to be probably someone's pride and joy that got washed and polished each weekend ! 1
