ford fan Posted Friday at 07:56 PM Posted Friday at 07:56 PM Hi ! I wish to show you my latest completed model : a Paul Hettick's 1977 Merc Cougar. I am a massive Cougar fan & try & buy every model available. When I saw this model for sale on eBay, I had to have it. As with all Paul's models, the fit is perfect. Pricey but well worth it ! I painted it using a FireScaleModeller spray paint (a 70's Citroën hue in fact) & the interior in Tamiya insignia white. Hope you like it ! 15
Falcon Ranchero Posted Friday at 08:47 PM Posted Friday at 08:47 PM Looks great; a guy in town here has a ‘77 Cougar in the same colour, but witha dark blue vinyl top.
iwantmodels Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Wow. That is stunning. I want one. I had a real 1977 Mercury Cougar XR-7, mine was white with a brown vinyl top and a brown interior. I loved that car.
Chuckyg1 Posted Friday at 09:58 PM Posted Friday at 09:58 PM Another sweet looking build. One of my buddies had one of this vintage. Lotta memories. Some good, some not so much.
Shark Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Looks real, except for that hand in one picture.
Rattlecan Dan Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM Very nice build. Sharp-looking car.
AMT68 Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Posted yesterday at 02:02 AM Awesome representation and build of that XR7.. Comfortable riding cars that were very popular during their three year run.
Tyreman Posted yesterday at 06:17 AM Posted yesterday at 06:17 AM Wonderful! i owned a 68 XR7 so lucky! one of these for sale UK Black with Blue roof and looks a good car...i like your build Sir.
baycolony Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Posted yesterday at 11:19 AM Bertrand!!!! That is killer. You did a fantastic job on this. I am glad to see it completed, and so clean.
ford fan Posted yesterday at 12:28 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:28 PM Thank you my friends ! @baycolony : Gil, it's thanks to you that I could have this kit ! For some reason, the American eBay seller didn't want to ship to France. So Gil (we are long-distance friends for years) bought it & kindly sent it to me. I will never thank you enough since I wish to have every existing Cougar model in my collection (I am not that far away) ! Glad to see you here ! @Tony : ouch ! You owned a '68 XR7 !!! In a perfect world, I would drive my good old New Edge daily & have an early Cougar for the week-end drives !
espo Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Great looking paint and trim. The resin body all looks in proportion.
ford fan Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Thanks so much ! I'm really glad to discover that there is a nice proportion of women on this forum. I'm part of a French modeling forum too (called Koolest Kruzers) & unfortunately, among the 500+ members, there isn't a single woman 😞 . It's a shame...
XYHARRY Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Very nice Cougar there Bertrand, I remember seeing many of these 'land yachts ' as a 13 yo when my family lived in Vancouver BC for a year in 1979/80. You never see these here in Australia. Really well done and welcome to the forum.
