Hi !

I wish to show you my latest completed model : a Paul Hettick's 1977 Merc Cougar.

I am a massive Cougar fan & try & buy every model available. When I saw this model for sale on eBay, I had to have it.

As with all Paul's models, the fit is perfect. Pricey but well worth it !

I painted it using a FireScaleModeller spray paint (a 70's Citroën hue in fact) & the interior in Tamiya insignia white.

Hope you like it !

Wow.  That is stunning.  I want one.  I had a real 1977 Mercury Cougar XR-7, mine was white with a brown vinyl top and a brown interior.  I loved that car.

Another sweet looking build. One of my buddies had one of this vintage. Lotta memories. Some good, some not so much.

Awesome representation and build of that XR7.. Comfortable riding cars that were very popular during their three year run.

Thank you my friends !

@baycolony : Gil, it's thanks to you that I could have this kit ! For some reason, the American eBay seller didn't want to ship to France. So Gil (we are long-distance friends for years) bought it & kindly sent it to me.

I will never thank you enough since I wish to have every existing Cougar model in my collection (I am not that far away) ! Glad to see you here !

@Tony : ouch ! You owned a '68 XR7 !!! In a perfect world, I would drive my good old New Edge daily & have an early Cougar for the week-end drives !

Thanks so much ! I'm really glad to discover that there is a nice proportion of women on this forum.

I'm part of a French modeling forum too (called Koolest Kruzers) & unfortunately, among the 500+ members, there isn't a single woman 😞 . It's a shame...

Very nice Cougar there Bertrand, I remember seeing many of these 'land yachts ' as a 13 yo when my family lived in Vancouver BC for a year in 1979/80. You never see these here in Australia. Really well done and welcome to the forum.
