bytownshaker Posted September 3 Posted September 3 (edited) For Canadians, you can get it under a different name but it appears to exactly the same product. Edited September 4 by bytownshaker Added info
AJ48085 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I took a chance and purchased some Fusionfirm chrome, and so far, I haven't been disappointed. Thanks, A.J. 4
R. Thorne Posted September 4 Author Posted September 4 It is manufactured by Fusionfirm in a larger container known as liquid chrome. There is no varnish included. This version is designed for airbrush use with no thinner added. Now, the bad news: it is slightly higher in price ($13-14); and is not currently available (sold out on Amazon).
PHPaul Posted Tuesday at 06:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:51 PM Based on this thread, I bought some from Amazon. Applied it to some diamond plate on my service truck build and it's AMAZING! Thanks so much for this tip! 1
Can-Con Posted Tuesday at 11:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:05 PM I want to see someone do a grille with this and put a wash on it. Not something I've seen any of the products hold up to sucessfully. Now THAT would be something. 1

Vallejo model color black thinned with createx 4011. Very thin, with a #20 mini round brush. The surround of the grille is createx wicked black pearl, hand painted and cleared with a brush as well. 2 1

The solution might be to mask off and varnish the areas that require a wash.

No, I didn't use the varnish with this one. I had varnished it once before, and had applied it too heavily, didn't like the results. That picture is the 3rd attempt at that bumper, just to be straightforward with everything and everybody. I'm still on the learning curve. One thing I want to add ,just too be clear, is even though I thinned the paint to a wash,I applied it very carefully to the grille like a panel liner. A dab in each slot.
