TransAmMike Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The last build here I completed around 3 weeks ago. This is the Moebius Models Don Nicholson kit. To me it's an OK kit that I had some issues with getting some parts to fit correctly or had trouble with figuring out from the sketchy instructions. Paint is Mr. Hobby 1500 primer, topcoat is Createx Opaque Black and cleared with Createx 5620 Gloss. Thanks to Dave G. for a lot of advise in perfect the mixing and application. Unfortunately, the results aren't reflected (ha, literally) in the pictures. I would have liked the stance to be lower but my modification skills are less than steller. I added the exhaust system as the FX car has only headers. Thanks to Zippy for printing the aftermarket mufflers for me. Wheels and tires are from Iceman. Otherwise, its essentially OOB. Thanks all for looking, 27
Zippi Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Man, that's a Looker right there Buddy. That exhaust system looks pretty kewl. I think the stance looks fine. Kinda the way these ole Gassers were back in the day. Nice build my friend. 1

VanGoGo Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Nice gasser stance...and the SOHC 427 'cammer engine gets two thumbs up!
Bainford Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Cool Comet, Mike. That thing has some real mean attitude. Nice work.

espo Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Great looking body and interior color combination and finishes. Got the suspension sitting tall for weight transfer at the Drags.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Looks good Mike! I don't think the 5620 is necessarily meant for getting a nice shine, even though it says gloss topcoat on the bottle. I find the 4050 Gloss and more so the 4053 High Gloss to give a far better shine. I have a tutorial series using the Createx paints and clears including wet-sanding, polishing, and waxing for a real nice shine on my YouTube channel if you're interested. The link to my channel is in my sig down below.

I'm now pretty sure I actually did use the 4050 clear. Edited August 7 by TransAmMike 1
TransAmMike Posted Friday at 07:15 PM Author Posted Friday at 07:15 PM Well I'm overwhelmed by all the replies to my Comet post. To each and everyone of you Thanks very much!!!!!!☺️
Maindrian Pace Posted Sunday at 03:19 PM Posted Sunday at 03:19 PM Very nice, the stance looks just right for a gasser or a '70s street freak, I can picture it doing a block-long burnout.
Horrorshow Posted Sunday at 03:46 PM Posted Sunday at 03:46 PM Stance looks great, aggressive, mean looking.
slusher Posted Monday at 01:37 AM Posted Monday at 01:37 AM Beautiful Comet, my neighbor hope mine looks as good as yours!
XYHARRY Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Great looking Comet there Mike, I like the Gasser stance and that 427 cammer is the cherry on top. Well done.
