meechum68 Posted August 10 Posted August 10 My wallet is NOT gonna recover from every thing coming out ... but hey it's all good!! Several kits I never got to buy so glad to see them coming.

The photo just above your post illustrates those years with the double throttle body intakes. I'm loving the power those intakes provide. And I'll be buying at least 2 kits even if they are snappers.
Jim B Posted August 11 Posted August 11 According to Scalemates, two companies have this listed (probably for pre-order). Truckmo.com has it listed for €25.88 & Modellbau Universe for €33.50. 2024 Ford Mustang GT, Revell 07743 (2025)

I see a couple people selling it on eBay, but I'm not familiar with the quality of the sellers.

LOBBS Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:59 PM Fingers crossed that Revell will get around to the Z06 and/or ZR1 versions of the C8 1

I thought that a prior thread on this kit announced that there would be an engine, albeit undertandably simplified in the context of the overall kit design brief. To me the omission of an engine in a model kit of what has been the world's best-selling sports car for several years now is simply unacceptable, particularly from a kitmaker like Revell. Even more so when the engine is one as iconic as the current Coyote DOHC V8. So maybe I missed seeing the engine parts in the images above? Or perhaps Revell is planning a second kit release with the missing powertrain? But if not, count me bitterly disappointed in this new state of affairs....TIM I mean, it's a BIG move in the right direction over the 550s; but three straight curbsides now? You're beginning to swing me over to your way of thinking... 🧐 1

Agreed 128%. As much as I loved building Tamiya's R34 V-Spec, I'da loved it even more with full underhood detail.

I can see why others might like this, but it doesn’t do a thing for me. I either want to build a little engine or glue the hood shut. Picking out little details on a large piece like this is not overly enjoyable for me.

stavanzer Posted Wednesday at 03:40 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:40 AM The older I get the more I feel like I don't want to build an engine in anything built after the year 2000. Just too much trouble. 2

Just too much trouble. Why? Almost everything is covered. Except for the GM "coil near plug" engines, there aren't any plug wires. Just paint detailing, most everything is black plastic or aluminum anyway. Add heater hoses if you want and you are done. You don't need to go Full Guthmiller and scratch the fuel lines from the direct injection high pressure fuel pump to the injectors or scratch build a purge solenoid and the lines into the intake unless you want to. And I don't want to. 1

rattle can man Posted Wednesday at 11:02 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:02 PM HMMMMMMMMMM! Does anyone make a nuclear reactor that could fit under the hood? I think there were a few blobular ones available in some of the show car kits that are now unobtanium prices.

Jon Cole Posted Thursday at 08:29 PM Posted Thursday at 08:29 PM When I think of late model engine bays, I think of the mess under the hood of the late model Bronco. Sure, not the same as the Mustang, but it definitely left me with a "meh" feeling. A feeling that carries on with other late models. 2

IHSS Posted Friday at 11:48 AM Posted Friday at 11:48 AM Anyone have info on the GMC Jimmy? I’m curious if it has the stock hood or the aftermarket hood from the 80’s release. And it doesn’t look much higher than stock for a high roller. But that can be dealt with easily.

This is not a reissue--it's a modified version of the new tool mid 80s Blazer that came out a while back. The box art in the first post of this thread shows a stock hood.
