iamsuperdan Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Hey everyone, If you haven't checked it out yet, head over to this active thread. We are planning the future of the board, and are planning to make some tweaks and adjustments. We NEED your input! Check the thread out and give us your ideas. Big or small, doesn't matter. Thanks!
Shark Posted August 20 Posted August 20 You can delete this response if you want. I really like it like it is and appreciate everyone's effort who is involved. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 2 1
Mike 1017 Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I agree If it ain't broke, don't fix it. As far as adds go I understand that if a person clicks on an add the Website owner gets a couple of pennies. If true let's bombard these adds with clicks. Mike 2

If someone finds you older thread, without photos it will not be very useful. Especially if it is some sort of reference or build thread. 2
Xingu Posted August 24 Posted August 24 23 hours ago, thatz4u said: would like to delete old photos, etc. We generally do not delete old photos or posts. Like Peter said, it makes old threads nearly useless. If you want something removed, you need to reach out to a moderator and have a really good reason why you want it removed. 2 1
rattle can man Posted September 18 Posted September 18 How about threads Ford, GM, Chrylser, etc. ? Kit histories? Or maybe scratch building.
Bugatti Fan Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Enough photos have been lost already by hosting sites changing their T&C's and thus spoiling threads completely if users did not comply. To allow individuals to take down their photos would only cause more disruption to threads. 2
MeatMan Posted September 18 Posted September 18 (edited) I think asking for a wish list of changes invites requests that aren't in line with the goals of the forum. I think having a direction you're trying to go in with the changes would get more focused ideas. What direction should the future of the forum take? What do you want to accomplish thru change? I've made this forum the only one I'm an active member of because of how its structured, so I think change should focus on what could really improve it in the eyes of the users. Anyway, kudos to you guys for a great forum. Edited September 18 by MeatMan 1

To have separate sections for car brands in addition to the vehicle type (cars, trucks, racers, etc.) would make the forum way too fragmented. But if members used tags for their threads (to identify the car maker for example) this is even currently possible. Problem is that most members do not want to be bothered with tags. 1

Anyway, kudos to you guys for a great forum. We have a definite vision in mind, but we want to hear what's important to everyone. There's a good chance someone has an idea that is awesome, that we had never considered. There's also a good chance that some ideas will never happen. As we've said, we won't be implementing every idea, but some of them will be for sure. I can already think of a couple of suggestions made by forum members that will happen. 2
Brian Austin Posted October 1 Posted October 1 It seems we already had a different mix of subcategories some time ago. I think I preferred that manner of organization
RancheroSteve Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM Posted Saturday at 07:14 PM I'd like to see the competition car categories broken down like this: 1. Oval track cars: NASCAR, short track, dirt, Indy 2. Road racing cars: F1, sports cars 3. Straightline cars: drag and salt flat/dry lake/LSR I realize there's always going to be some overlap or gray areas, but this is what makes the most sense to me in putting common types of vehicles together. 1

RancheroSteve Posted Sunday at 02:23 AM Posted Sunday at 02:23 AM Yes, thanks - I see that. I think it's a real improvement over before, but I'm still of the opinion that the salt flats/LSR cars should be in with the drag section. To be fair though, it doesn't make a huge difference to me most of the time, as I look at all those categories frequently. Didn't mean to come off unappreciative in any way - I'm very grateful for this forum and all that you guys do to maintain it. 1
Xingu Posted Sunday at 12:53 PM Posted Sunday at 12:53 PM We discussed combining LSR with Drag Racing, but eventually decided against it. This was partly because drag racing is side by side racing for quickest time and LSR is solo run for top speed. We may tweak things in the future. 1
OldNYJim Posted Monday at 03:37 AM Posted Monday at 03:37 AM I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure where to put a build thread I posted recently for a belly tank car…it IS a salt flats car…but then the description under the drag forum says… It DOES go in a straight line…so I posted it there 🤪. I won’t be upset if it gets moved though…
Xingu Posted Monday at 11:55 PM Posted Monday at 11:55 PM We have been working on how to reword the descriptions to a lot of the areas. There are a few larger tasks that we have been focusing on, we will get it sorted out eventually. 1
