Vignale bodied Ferrai 375MM driven by Phil Hill (Richie Ginther co-pilot) to a second place finish at the last (1954) edition of the very dangerous Carrera Panamericana.

Fernando Pinto resin kit. I built it close to OOB save for some engine and instrument panel detailing. Primer was spray can applied but all other finishes were brush painted. I chose to finish the vehicle in a satin finish and add weathering to reflect the car at the end of a long day of racing on dusty roads.

Pierre, as per usual your build is an amazing thing to behold. The realism you add to your models is unequalled in its perfection by anyone else. it's always such a joy to watch the images over and over again picking up something new every time.  As I always say, I cannot wait till your next offering to us mere mortals. Don't make us wait too long.

Salut Pierre!

Wow, great build, bravo! The light weathering is effective, and the patina of the seats is absolutely life-like. World class.

Merci Claude, a quick 95% OOB to get me back in the groove. Next one will be a return to my new love... the salt!

Wow !  Fantastic build and yes that patina is something.

Thank you David. I posted my simple weathering method in the w.i.p. thread. I like the results it produced using just brushes and pigments.

Your excellent detail work and convincing weathering turned this resin kit into a marvellous replica, Pierre - bravo !

You must send the pictures to Fernando!

Thank you friend. Fernando has been very supportive in replacing many parts for this kit and I thanked him and attached photos of the build, which he immediately posted on his site. He really supports his customers.

Thank you sir. I am back in the game. I already have parts on the table. Lots of head scratching as most of it will need... scratch building.

A great build ,this looks so right. Your weathering is really well done.

Thank you Bruce. Weathering a white car is challenging, the shift from too little to too much can happen so fast.

She's a beaUty Pierre

Thank you Bruce. I think taking the risk to add weathering does add interest... and helps hiding the so so paint job.

Great looking build Pierre, I'm guessing you are starting to like resin 😂

I like that I survived it. Full admiration for you and others achieving impeccable body and paint finishes with resin as the starting point.

Outstanding , love it ,even the dust in the tyres !  Cheers.

Thank you Philip. I took extra time with the wheels and tires and I'd say it contributes a lot to the realism of the build.

I love everything about this automobile!

The weathering really puts it in its true element. If I had to pick a single element on your build, it would be how well you placed the wheels, giving it a perfect stance.

This is where a lot modelers miss the mark.  Beautiful presentation.

Pierre....that is spectacular.  Followed your WIP.   Your artistry with paint is beyond compare.  Congrats on a great job.

Thank you Rich for your constant encouragement. The fact that spray painting is not a possibility (condo life) has pushed me into the brush world. The scale model in my canvas and it's fun to try different techniques.

Superb model, Pierre.  Amazing what you accomplish with brush and pastel.

It does not always go to plan but it's fun and creative. My third car with this type of weathering but perhaps the most difficult. White base is unforgiving.

Beautiful build and great to see as saw Phil Hill drive it at the Monterey Historics many years ago.

Thank you sir. Right or wrong I avoided replicating the car as we see it today in fear the restoration was too "perfect" relative to what the car might look like in 1954. Regardless, it's a beautiful, unique race car.

I agree. Stance, ride height and track are usually my first element of focus, with lots of mock ups and adjustments before I commit to paint and glue. You miss on that and no matter how good the rest is the replica will not look realistic.
