Harry P. Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Great shots, Chuck. They could be calendar pages!
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 A few more... O'Hare airport: Typical residential street: Lake Shore Drive: And the neighborhoods:
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 All kidding aside, we're actually feeling a little (I said, a little) of your pain. Our high temperature today is expected to be no more than 45 degrees. Oh, boo hoo! Geez, you might have to break out the long-sleeved shirts!
charlie8575 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Marlborough, Ma., on the back of French Hill, 4:00-ish P.M. Dad took this picture. Sooooo much fun. Yeah. Right. Charlie Larkin
shucky Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) I wasn't so lucky to "just" get the 22 inches of snow, the wind whipped up to create a massive 40+ inches in my driveway and 5 feet on my back sidewalk! I dragged the wife out in her jammies to get that last pic Edited February 3, 2011 by shucky
mikemodeler Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Shucky, why doesn't she have a shovel in her hand? Looks like if you rev up the engine in the car and put it into reverse, you could get half way down the driveway before you would get stuck! I am supposed to head to Milwaukee tomorrow, not sure if the flight is still on but I will find out in the morning. It was 64 degrees here today in the Charlotte area, although we are supposed to see the temps drop and some rain move in later this week.
Modelmartin Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 My favorite snow pics from the media. This was from last week's storm. Some people don't want to clear the snow off their vehicles. At least their windows are clear! OOOPS! This happened in New Hampshire. Talk about a balancing act!
Joe Handley Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Well, the driveway and sidewalk is clear.....we broke the snow blower twice and maybe me now, but it's clear BTW for you local guys, the Sears parts center at Army Trail and Gary was closed today and the snow piled in front of the driveways were taller than my Cherokee
charlie8575 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) And today's big disaster. One building literally collapsed from all the snow. Easton is about 45 minutes south and slightly west of Boston. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/12003438157954/workers-run-as-easton-building-collapses/ Charlie Larkin Edited February 3, 2011 by charlie8575
MikeMc Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Oh, boo hoo! Geez, you might have to break out the long-sleeved shirts! I used to laugh too...after 15 years this far south, 45 is what you guys feel at -10. Sounds funny, but I do not have my down vest, wool hat, goretex gloves or electric sox  !! We both deal with snowbirds, who wander about in shorts and flip flops while we wear flannel shirts and long pants...its just getting used to it...Nope no more below zero for this old softie!!, It was 74 degrees out tonight at 9:00pm...60s overnight looks like rain on Saturday

Joe Handley Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Here's one of the pics I took today We finally finished after 6pm tonight....I then went upstairs and took a nap until dinner http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v698/bjoehandley/Random%20Photographs/Blizzard%202011/ Edited February 3, 2011 by Joe Handley

Joe Handley Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 This ain't good, Dad blew up the snow blower's motor today just before I left for work.........and we're getting more this weekend
MikeMc Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 The pics that have been posted are wonderful, and a fantastic reminder of why I moved to FLA 9 years ago. Yep, I left in 93.....now 45 is frigid.....
samdiego Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) I've wanted to drive one of these conversions for a while. Might make a nice "stranded in the blizzard of '11" project or you could go this route And for battling the Snow Cylons. Edited February 4, 2011 by samdiego
Joe Handley Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Lol, those could have been handy on the drive home for me and my co-worker Tuesday night!
highway Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Everyone should have known in Chicago they were done for when Jim Cantore AND Mike Bettes showed up from The Weather Channel!!
Joe Handley Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hell, I didn't know they were in town till yesterday!
Joe Handley Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Well, it's Superbowl Sunday and it's snowing again...........store's going to be jumping today
my66s55 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Yep, I left in 93.....now 45 is frigid..... Move here in 90. Grew up in Michigan. I wear a light jacket in the low 50's, especially if the sun's not shinning. I had nightmares for years about having to move back up north. You guys in Chicago-the Readers Digest wrote, I believe it was in the 50's, that Chicago has three seasons. July, August and winter. I hate snow.
Guest Markus355 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 they say the season here in ns are as follows: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road work.
